Your tarp job looks good to me. Of course I’ve never done one and refuse to take loads that require it. (Just by choice). However, I don’t understand why they wanted you to tarp those plastic tubes/pipes. The place where you got the load had pipes/tubes stacked around the outside of the building without any covering 😂. Anyway, good tarp job and it was really nice of that guy to help you. I can count on one hand the number of times I got help! Good luck out there, stay safe!!👍🏿

when you do the big 4" winch straps roll them up and then fold it on itself and then squeeze it through the winch. basically it'll look like you have 2 straps together when putting it in. it'll allow you to get them tighter than you have them. also, saw someone else say it, but yeah the straps need to go under rub rail. keep pushing man. before you know it you'll be loading things like clockwork.

Always tarp back to front. This way your tarps dont catch the wind going down the road. If you have 2 tarps, always put the rear tarp on first then overlap the front tarp on top of that rear tarp.

If DOT got you for straps being on the outside of rubrail. They are 100% wrong. That ruling was applied around 2011 and lasted for about six months. FMCSA quickly removed that rule. Securement is the only objects allowable to be outside of rubrail. However, it is best to keep securement within the rubrail, including dunnage. Looks like dunnage maybe over hanging. Also, is there a reason you do not have mirrors up for towing?
@corntv11075 ай бұрын
@@lifeontheroad_ Yeah DOT did not pull me over. This was our first load so we have made the adjustments on going inside the rail with our straps. Also since then we have utilized our tow mirrors. Thanks for the feedback
