The Miata you and Adam scored forever ago now, would be a perfect “compound togue” car to set up just like Adam is doing the CRX! That way you guys have best of both worlds RWD & FWD to set times with and all around would be such an awesome momentum racer!! I think it would do awesome for content, do a little boyfriend Girlfriend build together with Adam and it’d be relatively cheap to build! Hope you see this and it sparks a little new found interest in finally doing something with that car!! Congrats on the new car, Love the R33. now you can mob skylines with Mr. GTR himself! If you're only using the washer for washing vehicles, swap out the wand for a shorter one without the extension. It's easier to use, especially with a foam cannon.

Fellow Upside down boat owner here ('96 S2 GTS-t, 500rwhp RB25det non-neo) Head Studs and metal headgasket, headlift will be a issue once you start chasing 350+. E85 is your friend, consider the conversion. As for your auto, I run a Manualised Valvebody in my auto. Essentially a sequential without the clutch. That way you can run a aftermarket ECU and not worry about the autobox causing issues. Select all gears yourself and hold gears if you're having some fun ;) $1200AUD and drop the Valvebody in the box (can do it with box still in the car). Super fun setup, great for cruising. Welcome to the yacht club!

Rb30 is what the Aussies like its the single cam 3 litre that came in r31 skylines and VL turbo commodores, we didn't get the single cam rb20. Edit: the big power GTR guys down here use rb30 blocks with RB26 heads in their drag cars, so I wonder if you could swap the head on the 20e to a twin cam 20,25 or 26 head. It probably would be a waste of time and money but cool none the less.

Hi Nick , you can fit the 20 twin cam head on the 20e bottom end , but still end up with an RB20 . The 25 head on the RB30 bottom end is where the easy power is . I`m running 650hp in an old falcon with mine

I'm so glad to see R33s getting the love they deserve online. Down here in Australia, R33's were known as the "boat" Skyline and got a bad rap, but I did the math on them 10 years ago and bought one anyway. They're just as capable as any of the other R platforms and in my opinion their design is timeless. So much so that it's kind of hard to find kits that make them look any better, best bet is factory options like the S2 M-Type, Nismo or the various GTR kits. My dream would be the LM kit, but that's hard to find.

I can tell you from experience that the r33 is a smooth ride and the aircon works well. For the engine to be 150k km the engine runs like it's new. The down side was mine was rusted in the under chassis and a litte bit on the driver side. Even with one of the suspension busted you can't feel it unless you hit a small pop hole or bump you could hear it too. It doesn't sound pretty at all

Shes the same body shape and color (QM1) as my R33 😊 Thats a factory Series 1 Type-M front bumper and rear spats. The wing is aftermarket (Nissan & Nismo never made a duck wing...might be JSAI), and those side skirts I believe are 400R replica skirts. They look like Nismo but they dont quite look right. The grill looks like a Nismo grill but its missing the nismo badge (on the left side), probably fell off over time. The thing I love about R33's in particular, is just how reliable and comfy they are stock. When I was at school everyone had skylines, and they were just such good cars to daily everywhere. Its always a good time when I can get mine out of the garage 😁 And we dont really build RB20E's reliably, theyre so cheap we just turbo them and blow them up haha. RB30's are more sought after for building (typically built up with an RB25/RB26 head)

Excited to see this car and a rb. One thing though be careful with the rb because they are prone to hoarding oill in the head causing the bottom to starve. You can get restrictor for the head and extra drains. The rb is one of my favorite engines and they sound really mean tuned up. One idea for the Miata take the old ls2 from the corvette ant put it in there and make a nice street/ track car.

100%, gimme a 400hp rb over a 600hp JZ any day, just for that scream. Also, a v6 is a super easy swap for the Miata. Iirc they actually designed it to fit the same v6 as the Mondeo but never did it. Or maybe that was the mr2 being designed to fit the Camry V6... Either way, it fits, sounds sick and keeps the power pretty reasonable

I like the white as well and it's got a beautiful roofline. Never going to be very fast with a 2 litre six, but you already have some high hp rigs it might be nice to keep it as a cushy cruiser maybe with a turbo. I'd skip the nos.

the rb20’s have copped some serious abuse in the drift world and had held up pretty well, they only usually get swapped for bigger displacement. the rb30’s are wheres its at tho, even with the single cam head they’re very capable of getting into the 1000hp range and people like the maatouks boys build them for high hp on the daily. definitely a very stout motor built

3 spoke series 1 genuine steering wheel retrimed non airbag will have to get a clock spring as well. Mines do a nice retrim kit for the centre console lid, handbrake boot plus shifter boot for when you go manual

In Australia until about 5 years ago, R33's where called Boats just like everywhere else and best used as parts. RB25's from these go good into blown R32's, R34's, Cefiros, S13's, S14' and S15's and even BMW motor swaps. But now there seems to be a bit more rarity. Shame and don't know how it started, but Skylines are mostly dope. Just the 33 was the ugly duckling I guess. Cool to see what you will do with it.. Oh edit, Rb20 non turbo eh.. We got the RB20DETs in the GtST on the 32 Skylines. They werent bad, but 25's are night and day on the RB20E. Honestly dont waste your time and money, just do the swap! and if you must do something on a RB20 platform, get an old 280Z drop that in there (or keep in the R33),run ITB's and clean the engine bay up and tweek the motor to rev to 9k and bring compression up, still easier to just RB25 swap and Manual box. Easier and cheaper then building a good RB20 which revs and sounds good.

When you go to do some research on the Aussie cars Its the RB30DET The car that it came in was the Holden Commodore VL Turbo They were and still are a formidable weapon on the street n track in Australia Go the nitrous oxide route, best bang for buck, and most noticeable difference! In the short term. The RB20 na is a boat anchor, sorry Colette. When was this video made in relation to the hurricane?

I actually have a list of what you would need to turbo the 20e An rb30et exhaust manifold RB20DET injectors on low fuel pressure A fuel rail adaptor Fuel pressure regulator Bcp7re’s spark plugs A wastegate -7 to -10 degrees timing on the dizzy Factory 20e ecu The block has to have a provision for oil feed and return, on the exhaust side there’s not always provisions so you’ll have to take engine out to drill those in there. Apart from that it’s all pretty simple. On the side of the block underneath exhaust in the middle there’s either a hole or a bolt that does into that hole and it goes across to the oil filter (prettymuch opposite side of oil filter) And that either needs a long 5mm drill bit to get oil flowing through or to be unscrewed and a oil feed banjo fitting screwed into it. Oil return was going in where there’s a 1/2 inch square bung or grub screw thing, just under the oil feed hole at the bottom of the block above the oil pan. On some 20e it’s blank and you gotta drill it out for a return or have a return run to the sump with an an fitting. Also gotta make up either a hot pipe or run some custom intercooler piping and intercooler

Thats awesome , I bought a Series 1 R33 recently too ! Im in Western Australia, Mine has an RB25DET Auto trans , Im really enjoying spooling mine up and launching with the Auto . The 3 spoke series 1 wheel is much nicer There isnt much you can really do to the RB20E, except add an aftermarket Turbo kit or your NOS , but We had the RB30E and RB30ET engine factory fitted to our 1986 Holden Commodore here . The RB20E was factory fitment in the Thailand and New Zealand Commodores i think , its a very unloved motor .

Seats look great but if you put new seats (that somewhat match) in and Don't change anything else you can preserve the nice interior it has better. That stance it nice if you like the ride why change it? The body kit that is on it now I am with you. It is simple and looks good on it.
