14:42 One thing I would say to help is only use CLEAN rags and patches when dipping into your bottle of solvent. You don’t want to contaminate the solvent and ruin the whole bottle. Another thing… The microfiber cloth is just to wipe down the gun after it is really clean and reassembled. You don’t want to use it like a cleaning rag on the inside of the firearm. I like using old socks for rags to clean parts and cut patches for the barrel. Get a Plano box with trays to keep your kit in. The round brush is only for the barrel and chamber. If you use it like a scrub brush you will deform it and ruin it faster. But they are kinda cheap. Get a toothbrush style brass brush and dental pic kit. Cut up old cotton t-shirts for rags.

I use a Plano dry storage box to hold my kit. Looks kind of like an ammo can but it’s a littler bigger. Has a place for a pad lock. Has a flip up compartment in the lid. Has rubber air tight o ring on the big lid. Has an internal lift out top tray. The top compartment in the lid keeps all my bits and bore brushes. The top tray hold rods, brass brushes, scissors, punches, and tools. Bottom holds all rags, towels, old socks for patches, chemicals, spray cans, and bore snakes. The box cost about 20$. I use another identical box for my range box. Targets, markers, tape, ear and eye protection. Ammo and mags for the day. Staple gun sometimes. Load and unload as needed. They are super handy. They stack and store well. The biggest thing is that it is air tight and the chemicals on old rags won’t stink your room or car up. They last forever.

The accessary with the pointy tip is a jag. You use it to push patches through the barrel. I prefer jags over the eye patch holder. Nice job for your first cleaning!

Thanks a lot man. And good to know. I wasn’t sure at first. Gotta do a new and improved cleaning vid

Use and old tooth brush. The brush u were using is only for the barrel. But not bad at all for first time, way better than what I did 😂

Hahaha. Bro so many people told me that after 😂. I have a little tooth brush for it now. I watched it over and had to laugh

I got a big fishing tackle-box with a lot of dividers to put my cleaning equipment in. Plenty of room for a polishing cloth, cotton swabs, toothbrushes, etc. in addition to all of the parts in your video. Good video by the way! Happy cleaning!

The Lucas oil is much better than the hoppes oil imo. They say hoppes oil is just mineral oil that you can buy at the pharmacy

I'll say you did a pretty darn good job of cleaning your firearm.. I would recommend a hard plastic pic to get into those hard to reach areas but other than that everything you did was good

Thanks bro. Make sure you subscribe and tell your friends about the channel. I’m doing a Beretta next!!

Hoppe’s is a good starter kit for cleaning. I would suggest getting an Otis cleaning kit down the road. The jag (the piece with the pointy end) is probably the most important part of the kit. There’s different size jags for different sized barrels. Let the No. 9 sit for about 15 to work through the fouling and gun powder.

Nice imma check it out. Maybe it will be another video.

Man I love the smell of Hoppes #9. It takes me back to when I was a kid. That was a long, long time ago. I’m 72. You’ll get your cleaning regimen down with practice. There’s only one way to do that, get the gun dirty. That means, burn powder! 😊👍🏻 PS, it’s pronounced Hop-eez #9.
@renobyrom8312 жыл бұрын
Cool. Solid start. For the one handgun that kit should suffice. I've personally found that the factory rod and brush is sufficient, though as you said, extras are always nice. Also, Hoppe's #9 dissolves copper and all manner of things. It irritates the skin and lungs, so I recommend a ventilated room and gloves if you have them.
@AGTactical2 жыл бұрын
Man it was strong and the room needed more ventilation. Learning experience for sure. I think I’ll just be using gloves in case as a rule until I know. Thanks for the feedback bro!

Does it affect the metal parts plating on glock frames?
@AGTactical2 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand? Are you talking about the area that comes into contact with the slide. The metal bars?

The chemicals in the hoppes kits are safe for everything on your firearm. Specially the powder solvent and gun oil. They won’t harm your firearm.

Lol please explain sir. And pay attention to the video. You may hear me say im a newer gun owner. 🤔

Wow, we’re you born this stupid. He said he was a new gun owner. And with the exception of needing a toothbrush to better scrub the gun, he did nothing wrong.
