Kind of insane to listen to an album like this without lyrics. This project is mostly about Arcas pretransition. Anoche is about killing off her old self and seeing a future but not knowing her figure. Piel is about shedding skin and burning to become something new. The whole album is a storyline of uncertainty of transitioning and questioning “what is the Self separated from the body?” Miel Is her asking to be devoured for only her love can find sweetness within her

i feel like u will like kick 4 and 5 cuz u seem to like her more ambient stuff expect they’re more of a different ambient vibe and not rlly repititive at all but tysm for reacting to her self titled 🫶 also i do recommend checking out the lyrics after a reaction privately cuz her writing is rlly good and one of a kind especially on this album

I didn’t really love this album too much at first, but once I did take a bath with this album playing in the background- it all made sense! This album is pretty raw, and I love that Arca was sharing a more vulnerable side of her with it.

You should definitely read the translations of the lyrics I think the songs of this album hit better understanding what she’s saying. Desafíos and Piel lyrics have some hard hitting stuff there haha.

for me mutant is her best album, no singing just scary ambient sound from start to finish. you should check it out, the sound is more diverse than the self titled

One of my all time fave albums, I acc didn’t like it on my first listen at all, there are still a few odd songs I don’t like - child, whip, castration - but once u get the album it grips you (the translation will help a lot)

I think you're missing out like 80% of this album`s content solely by skipping the lyrics´ meaning. The reiterative nature of these songs is revealed there going through themes of falling in and out of love, the contradictions of carnal desire, pain and pleasure, sublimation as well.
