*URGENT UPDATE* hey friends. My home town is currently in a state of emergency, I give some details at 23:07 - it would mean a lot to me if you watched that section. I've been keeping a lot of you up to date on my instagram, but I am happy to try answer any questions you may have here as well.

Great video Levi. Passionate bikepacker. Did it with 5yr old and trailers and all sorts. Amazing trips and brilliant memories. I'm sure you will love it when the time comes to share your adventures with your kids. Just me and the Mrs now and started out making our own videos in the last couple of months. Channels like yours are the inspiration, thank you!

In my experience a bike packing trip is a humbling experience in every way. The effort, the unknown, the conditions can all push back on your adventure and the only way through is to keep going with blind trust of your own ability. I think there’s link between being humbled and discovering something new.

Terrific filmmaking/storytelling, and I loved that you were open and vulnerable about your fear of the dark. I spent a night in the woods with my cousin when I was 15 … we got lost hiking in northern Wisconsin … and dense woods at night are not for the faint of heart. 😱 Being lost doesn’t help either. 🥺 Sending thoughts and good vibrations to everyone in the Fraser Valley - if there’s anything I can do to help from here in Omaha, let me know! I can’t imagine having no way to get to my wife and two girls. ❤️✌🏻

My thoughts to all who are effected by the flooding. Congratulations on your first night out! It will open the gate for many future adventures. I am afraid of heights, but I am also an abandoned mine explorer who regularly rappels down mine shafts. It's never easy for me, but like you, I push through. Knowing that I CAN do it and have done it keeps me from losing nerve and backing out. Having fears is not weakness. How you deal with it is strength. Well done!

My thoughts are with everyone in BC and beyond struggling with this weather. Fingers crossed that you all stay safe and you get back to your family very soon, Levi. It’s interesting that building on flood plains is permitted in BC, as it is in the UK. I can see plenty of raised roads in your video. We don’t have those. When extreme weather does hit, it’s so much harder to avoid. We had the Somerset Levels underwater for 3 months. There were even concerns that the soils bacteria might die off. Wishing you all a speedy return to normality.

Thanks for addressing the climate crisis in such a frank and personal way. From record heat and fires across the whole country to record rainfall the shift from one extreme to another is mind-boggling. It's here, it's unavoidable, and dramatically affecting Canada in one way or another. No one's off the hook with this reality.

Really beautifully shot video - always enjoy your very thoughtful and compassionate thoughts. Hoping all will be well with your family and home town! As a side note, if you haven’t already, think you would really appreciate Beau Miles’ videos. Great video, thanks for bringing these important issues up in your video. I think it’s worth mentioning the clear cut logging practises in this province that have also payed a huge role in increasing the severity and frequency of these flooding and mud slide events. Not to mention our current NDP government is actively decimating large portions of our last Old Growth Forests on Vancouver Island, which play a huge role in mitigating these extreme weather events.

Thanks for this video. It's unbelievable to see the affects of climate change so close to home. Living only a 20-30 minute drive away from Abbotsford/Chilliwack, its really eye opening and scary to see something like this happen in my city and province. I went on a road trip this summer and also saw first-hand the extent of the wildfires in the Interior and it seems so strange to see climate emergency after another. What's even scarier is this this will be the norm. I'm not quite sure how to put it into words but as a high school student I know that I have a responsibility to make a change to protect this beautiful province, country, and even planet. Subbed.

Hey man, maybe you cover this later in the vid, but it’s a really good idea to keep bear spray in a chest or hip holster. Bear encounters happen quickly and you often don’t have time to go digging in a pack. Cheers!

Hey Levi, how did you manage an almost 180 degree tracking shot at 5:23 if you're filming solo? Is this some DJI sorcery? Same thing at 8:06. Please do share the trick here. Nice video! But you start your talk that you wil ride a route that you ride multiple times a week but normally you ride to the start in your car. So you ride your car multiple times a week just to ride your local trail and then you begin your “nature importance” talk. Come on buddy, a better environment start with yourself and little choices you make.
@Levi_Allen3 жыл бұрын
That was literally the point of the video my dude. To explore on my own power better. I’m not going to apologize for driving 15min to go biking each week though. On the scale of impact that is very very very low
@mountaincruiser8173 жыл бұрын
@@Levi_Allen well you said that you rode “multiple” times a week to ride your trail. And you sure don't have to apologize your driving and yes your drive has a real low impact on the whole thing. But thats the problem isn't it, thats what 5 billion people think. But the start is made, you are conscious about your doing and importance. Keep up the good work and spreading the good vibes.
@Levi_Allen3 жыл бұрын
@@mountaincruiser817 again I think you missed that being the whole point of the video. I acknowledge I drive that route, and clearly biking it is the better option. I don’t think many people need that spelled out explicitly
