These are the festivals I like the most. The ones which showcase and preserve the local indigenous cultures. I especially like that the kids are included in the celebrations so they can pass it on.

among the cordilleras, i love Banaue and its surrounding areas. i love Batad the best with the amphitheater shaped rice terraces. hike through the rice terraces to go to Tappiya waterfalls, a majectic view. bring packed lunch and drinks with you early morning to hike to Tappiya and have lunch there, chill and swim till early afternoon and go back to the backpacker inn. i suggest go to Simon’s View Inn & Restaurant to stay overnight. if you have a tent and go camping, Mang Simon the owner won’t charge you! Mang Simon is a jolly person, always smiling and order the pizza he makes! enjoy Banaue and its evirons and stay safe 😊

veggie lumpia is big in Metro Manila and Baguio. it's the meat/fish lumpia that is small. as long as the wrapper isn't thick, I'm good with either size (proportionately priced!).

Here in Ilocos we call the bigger lumpiang gulay, "Lumpianada" since it's basically Empanada but wrapped in lumpia wrapper. Although most of the time, the lumpianadas have egg and/or meat inside and not only veggies unlike the smaller version.

@@SusieinthePhilippines One of the goto sites for locals here is at Mt. Tupira AKA Mt. Caniaw in the town of Bantay, Ilocos Sur. Locals call it "Radar" but I think you may Google it as Caniaw Radar Station. There's also like a heritage forest park in the same area. ☺
