Spent my 8 weeks there for sub school in '72. Then back again later in the year for my command SSBN 635(B). I had a sweet apartment in New London near Ocean Beach. When I wasn't out to sea, it was non stop partying. Some of the greatest years of my life. Go Navy!

When I was at Groton in 09 we partied so hard out there it was like a college atmosphere just with a bunch of dudes though so that’s what made it suck but we would drive out to Rhode Island and go clubbing in providence wild times great expeirence

I bowled a 260 at that bowling alley. The highest score I had ever gotten. And it was in Rotten Groton!😄 When I was there you could get really bad pizza off the Roach Coach and Beer and cans Dinty Moore stew out of vending machines in the barracks. The Mar Bar was the best place to get beer but don’t enter covered there or you will be buying the bar a round of cheer. Great place and great memories.👍🏻
