Just to clarify something that a lot of reactors seem to be confused about regarding the "worthiness" and Thor's weapons: The reason you have to be "worthy" to hold Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) is because in the first Thor movie Odin cast a powerful spell on it. Part of this spell was also: "whoever wields this hammer, if they be worthy, shall possess the powers of thor." That's how Cap was able to use lightning and stuff and because he was worthy he was able to pick it up in the first place. Stormbreaker (Thor's axe) on the other hand, has no such spell, and therefore one doesn't have to be worthy to pick it up, they just have to be strong (Because it's made out of a very heavy metal that only people with enhanced strength can lift). So you'll notice that while Thanos never touches Thor's hammer (Because he would be unable to lift it) he can pick up Thor's axe because he's simply strong enough to lift it.

I recently saw a meme that brought up another sub plot that was finished during endgame. that both Cap and Tony, in the end, prove each other’s initial assessment of each other wrong. “You’re a lab experiment Rogers. Anything special about you came out of a bottle!” Yet Cap proves he’s more than just his super human abilities when he’s worthy enough to lift Mjolnir. (Stormbreaker has no such enchantment btw, that’s why Thanos could grab and use it) “Big man in a suit of armor; take that off and what are you….the only thing you really fight for is yourself. You’re not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you.” Then Tony is given the chance to do the ultimate sacrifice play when Strange tells him that it was time for their ☝️one way to win, and he takes it…Like A Boss!

No matter how many times I've seen the movie, when seeing Nat sacrifices herself & Tony gives his life to save the universe always leads to me crying. exactly this. and Tonys "selfishness" of not wanting to give up what he got during the time after the dusting, aka not "removing" his daughter but just bring back everyone who got dusted, probably caused more problems throughout the whole universe than the dusting itself caused. sure everyone is happy that everyone is back but think about this: your wife/husband gets dusted, you grief for a while, get back to "normal" life, meet someone new and fall in love again, get married to that new person and then all of a sudden your old significant other is back and for them its like nothing happened. or you move into a nice house or apartment and suddenly the old tenants are back. Half the Universe population is gone, the other half deals with it, less resources are used but also less food is produced etc, less energy needs to be produced. and then everyone is back and you IMMEDIATLY need to ramp up production again... puts a massive strain on everything.. creates SO many problems and i am glad that Falcon & The Winter Soldier series picks up on that. they should do a non-superhero marvel series that deals with all these issues, maybe an anthology show where every episodes handles a different aspect of the problem of the Blip.
@HumourusLAV
@HumourusLAV 2 жыл бұрын
@@IH8YH Yeah man, but why don't we talk about the fact that Falcon and the winter soldier tries to picture the girl who blew up the building with people in it justified, yet if the same is done by people in Afghanistan or Iraq it's called terrorism? You don't see the fact they tried justify terrorism?

@@HumourusLAV See this is the problem, people like you not liking Phase 4 because you think it's supposed to mirror Phase 3. Phase 4 is just Phase 1 of a brand new arc (The Secret Wars arc), these movies were never meant to be on the same level as Infinity War and Endgame. You can't compare them until we're in Phase 6 for Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars (and even then they don't have to surpass IW and EG, just do justice for what's was built towards it). Phase 4's quality has been fantastic for what it is...laying the ground work for something new.

@@IH8YH For your information, Tony's 'Selfishness' can be looked at it in 2 ways, remember when Thanos came back and Tony told "When you mess with time it tends to mess back with you"? Also he created the damn time machine! He had guilt that Peter died but he had a family going, He loved his daughter too! If he was really that selfish, why would he build the damn time machine in the first place... Nobody is gonna willingly give up their family, I don't know what was your childhood story, but If I was in Tony's position, I won't give up my family for anything... Also he didn't think twice before snapping Thanos out of existence... The gauntlet was in the hands of many people... Black panther, Captain Marvel, Spiderman... Why didn't they snap Thanos.... Don't f-ing call him selfish for choosing the obvious

22:54 That “cheeseburgers” line… hit me like a brick wall in the theater. During the funeral and the subsequent scenes before it, I felt as if my heart was being carpet bombed with emotions. “I am Iron Man” “You can rest now” “I love you 3000”. The entire time I can feel that emotion pushing me to the breaking point, but some how I’m still holding it in. And then as the camera zooms out during the funeral I’m thinking about the first Iron Man movie. When we first saw Stark. When he got back home and asked for only two things a conference and cheeseburgers. Then Happy asks Morgan if she wants anything. In my head I was thinking: “Don’t you say it…”. When she said: “cheeseburgers”. All those emotion bombs finally hit. It broke me… I’m not ashamed to say I cried.

there were so many great callbacks in this film 😊 i think my favorites are: 1 - Falcon’s “on your left” in Cap’s earpiece, mirroring the morning run where he met Cap in Winter Soldier 2 - Wasp making fun of Ant-Man for calling Captain America “Cap” in their 2nd film and then calling him “Cap” during the battle herself 3 - Black Panther saying to Hawkeye “Clint… give it to me” during the gauntlet relay after their meeting in Civil War where Hawkeye said “hi, I’m Clint” and T’challa responded “I don’t care.” So great. Aside from the callbacks my favorite bit was the interaction between Steve, Bucky, and Sam near the end. Sebastian Stan’s acting there was so subtly beautiful… you could see in his eyes and hear in the tone of his voice when they said goodbye that he knew Steve wasn’t coming back. Then the look and nod to Sam nudging him over to old Steve? It showed so brilliantly that he knew what was coming and was giving Sam his blessing to take the shield 💜

It was the best theater experience I’ve ever had. Well infinity war was, until endgame haha. My and da boys have been going to the theaters to see marvel movies on opening day since highschool when we met. (Someone’s parent would drive us before at least one of us was able to lol). End game was the last marvel movie we ALL could be there for. After that, we were in college, out of state, in the military, heck one my friends has a kid now. So Endgame really was the end of a big chapter in my life. I will never forget it for the rest of my life also. Also sorry not sorry for my Ted talk on my life, no one asked but idc lol.

Cap's arc throughout the movies was the most incredible for me. He was the small heroic kid from Brooklyn with ambitions much bigger than he was. Always grounded in principle and virtue. "I can do this all day" wasn't just a line, it was a creed. Constantly fighting, constantly doing the right thing. "It's your job to plant yourself like a tree, and say No, you move." Breaking out everyone in the prison and facing Red Skull, leading the avengers in New York, destroying all of hydra and saving Bucky from himself, facing the entire world government for his friend because he knew he was being persecuted, facing down Ultron by himself, the only person not frozen when Thanos came to Earth, (Eyes up, stay sharp) and then standing up vs the entirety of Thanos' Army ready to exterminate the world and not backing down. He never moved, he never wavered, and he did in fact "do this all day". The character writing for cap is one of the most incredible writing for any character ever.

Great reaction to a great film buddy, this is truly more than a movie, it's an experience, SO MUCH TO SAY! In a "blink and you'll miss it" moment, Thor says "I knew it" when Steve picks up the hammer, and that's a nod to another "blink and you'll miss it" moment in Age of Ultron where they are all trying to pick up Thor's hammer at the party, and Steve ever-so-slightly gets the hammer to move the tiniest amount, and Thor looks worried for a split second. The current theory was that Steve noticed he could lift it but didn't b/c he didn't want to embarrass Thor. Not sure if you got the answer yet, but that one odd teenager looking guy in the funeral that was the "who is that guy?" guy, that's the boy from Iron Man 3 that Tony used his garage and watch and left him the big lab with the nickname "the mechanic". I thought having him there was a really subtle but touching addition. Steve and Bucky had another easy-to-miss moment with their "you're taking all the stupid with you" line. Bucky says "I'll miss you buddy" and if you look at the way Bucky acts (he's not surprised) when Steve doesn't come back and then is old Steve - you can tell that Steve told Bucky what he was going to do beforehand and got his blessing to give the shield to Sam instead of Bucky. The fact that Bucky was the only person Steve told is just another heartwarming nod to how close they were, partly because I think Steve knew Bucky, being he was also "out of time" would understand and wouldn't try and talk him out of it. Regarding Clint vs Natasha, it surprised me that Natasha didn't state the obvious: Clint has kids, Natasha doesn't. For me, I don't have kids, and if I was in that situation with a friend that had kids, that's case closed, no questions asked, of course it should be me. It really surprised me she didn't make that point, it's obvious when you put it in the context of parenting. (In fact, it's SO obvious in terms of parenting that it takes all of the tension and dilemma out of the moment which is probably why they didn't go there) Natasha, Steve, and Tony's endings here DO make sense in terms of their character arcs and their actor's journeys as well. Steve since the beginning has been the "jump on the grenade guy", what he's never done is put himself and his needs first, so he finally learned to do that. Natasha never had a family to die for and she finally got to do that, and Tony went from being self-absorbed and narcissistic trying to use technology to save him from the ultimate sacrifice, to be willing to do it when it was needed, he finally earned his "jump on the grenade" moment, while still bringing it back full circle with his "I am Iron Man" line. From the actor's side of things, RDJ played Iron Man 10 times in 11 years and he's 57 now and so if he's going to walk away from the character, does he want to ride off into the sunset without a big climax or does he want to go out saving the universe? There's no better way to walk away than that. Turning our attention to the larger Marvel conversation and the obvious, "well how do they top that?" elephant in the room, there's a few things to know about what's going on in Marvel-land: First, Marvel has retroactively named Phases 1-3 as "The Infinity Saga" since they all deal with the Infinity Stones and that whole journey. They have also named Phases 4-6 as "The Multiverse Saga" and we're building up to Avengers 5+6 which have been announced but are still a couple years out. Being that there is a "three phase rhythm" with a slow buildup to a big event, we're now in phase 4 and it definitely has that noticeable shift to starting the next slow buildup. There's not a ton of "OMG OMG OMG" at the moment, but there IS a lot of character building, both with some existing characters that survived all of the hullaballoo and introducing new characters. Phase 4 ALSO is the start of Disney+ TV series which allow more character focused stories that wouldn't necessarily be a good fit for a movie but work well in episodic format. Just looking at the loose threads from the end of Endgame, there are a few obvious things of note: - Sam was handed Cap's shield, and that's a lot to process - The world had half the population gone for 5 years only to have them instantly come back - the economics and logistics of that are overwhelming to society - A version of Loki from an alternate timeline escaped with the Tesseract when they went back to 2012 - Peter has a version of Gamora back but it's not the one that knows him - Wanda had been blipped for 5 years, so as far as she's concerned, Vision "just died" and she's not had any time to process that - Clint went full vigilante for 5 years and made a lot of enemies in the process - Thor left with the Guardians of the Galaxy to find himself - The characters, like the audience, are also feeling "now what?" And so on, and so that's where phase 4 picks up. Some folks haven't liked the shows as much since they are more character driven and less big bang boom action, but personally my wife and I and a bunch of our friends have really loved the shows specifically for that reason. The other big thing to know moving forward is a bit of the logistics/business side as it relates to Marvel's plans. As you may or may not be aware, Marvel had sold off a bunch of characters to different movie studios in the 90s and that's why Sony has Spiderman and 20th Century Fox had X-Men, The Fantastic Four, and Deadpool, and so on. Disney bought 20th century fox in 2019 so now Marvel owns the X-Men, The Fantastic Four, and Deadpool again. And it's highly speculated that "because multiverse" will become the plot device to bring everybody over into the MCU, meaning that an eventual "X-Men vs Avengers" is likely at some point like it was in the comics. So, some of the story choices now are more tactical in terms of finding reasons to get everyone on screen together. Ryan Reynolds JUST broke the internet THIS WEEK by announcing that Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine from the Fox X-Men movies with Ryan returning as Deadpool in Deadpool 3 which will be set in the MCU. The "because multiverse" also means that Marvel has a perpetual excuse to bring anyone back: Chris Evans, RDJ, whomever, and they can do so "because multiverse", so we'll see how that plays out. So yes, there is still plenty of content to enjoy and plenty more coming to keep your gooch slapped for many years to come. Cheers

So happy u posted this! And me and my boyfriend agree the new content, disney+ shows and the new movies have gotten so much shit but I've liked almost everything so far and have loved some too. Wandavision and loki are incredible I loved moon knight too. And the movies aren't as bad as some say, multiverse of madness was great, it was just go go go non stop, no way home was one of the best movies to come out since endgame, and love and thunder was fun and I loved the ending.

@@troyboi7662 not quite. They have announced some returning characters, yes, but they have yet to confirm or deny if they will be new versions/variants and where the Netflix series are situated in-canon (within the sacred timeline or a different branch?). Personally I always assumed they were set post 1st Avengers but before Ultron and the Sokovia Accords.

I will ALWAYS get chills when Sam says ''On your left Cap.'' ALWAYS! IMO as well? Bucky knew what Steve was going to do. Hence? He let Sam have that moment. Either he knew Cap that well, that he knew that was what he'd done, the moment he flew by their timeline, or? They'd discussed it hence? He gave Sam that ''Moment.'' despite he and Steve, being as close, or closer than brothers. No-one can deny, it's totally epic. Definitely chills throughout!

When Tony says “I lost the kid…” and Cap responds “Tony, WE lost.” It always gets me. Tony was so broken hearted about losing Peter, that the possibility of getting him back is what drove him to figure out the time travel. The look on Tony’s face when Peter comes up to him during the battle never fails to bring a tear to my eye. One of the most incredible movie theater experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve been chasing the high of Cap picking up the hammer for years. Being a huge Spiderman fan, no way home gave me that feeling again. Thanks for all the videos, they’ve been great!

From the first iron man movie all the way to end game has been, in my opinion, one of if not the greatest series of stories in cinema history. Every single character has a role and is acknowledged for it and the growth of every character was fantastic. This was absolutely peak storytelling. The individual movies may have had some bumps and issues in some of them but the fact that this team as a whole has managed to string this story together is one of the greatest accomplishments that I can think of. Thank you for giving their magnificent story the love it deserves on your channel as well.

This was the perfect 'wrap-up' to 10 years of MCU movies & was so perfectly put together! Hopefully the next phases in the MCU franchise will give us characters & stories we can invest in as much as we have with these! Just gonna put this out there too: you got your Wandas, Gamoras, Nats & many other female heroes each with many admirers, for my money the most beautiful & also the most criminally underused? - Agent Carter!

The emotional payoff of this film is unlike any other film I have ever watched!!! Watching it in the theater was also very very rewarding... especially the end credits (during what they would consider a "curtain call" list of the original Avengers) when applauds rang out for each name... and especially for Robert Downey Jr.

One thing I dont think many people noticed is the difference between the two guantlets. Thanos wore his gauntlet on his left hand and used it to destroy. The Avengers used a right-handed gauntlet to restore everyone. The two are literally the antithesis of one another. Just one of those really cool details to nerd out over.
