My FIRST Trials Competition!

Today the IRC Tire Guy competes in his first trials competition.

For a first Trial event you sure went in at the deep end. Great honest EM video's very refreshing, great work. Have you changed the clutch to position 3? also changing to a AJP clutch master cylinder helps at your level, also 10/61 sprockets.

Awesome job Rich! I'm impressed. I love my EM and so I like that you ride one too. Not everyone just tries their first trials competition, enters as an expert and finnishes 2nd. Bravo my friend. Would love to see you bring your Beta and your EM out to Arden Ontario and ride. It's a world class trials property and they host both an ATA trials event and a hard enduro event there every year. The hard enduro event is coming up in October. It is called Gnarden extreme enduro. I believe there are still 6 spots available if you're up to it. Would love to have you out. I take my EM there but don't have the courage to ride my enduro bike there. If you decide to come to Arden Ontario for a visit let me know.

Rich, totally enjoying your programs. I just got an EM, ePure Race, 2023. I'm hearing the TKO, so you are using the clutch a lot, like a gas bike. A few questions: Did you do anything to the clutch? (mine seems really on/off, rather than gradual) (I am doing the clutch drills to get more in tune with the clutch.) Are you on medium (blue) in the sections? Are you using power/clutch on your front/rear hops? Are the front hops harder than on your gas trials bike? Ebike seems to need power longer..inertia on the gas bike? Maybe a trials gas v electric riding/handling video? Keep the programs coming. Thanks

As my toddler says, "babies chew on EVERYTHING" hah. The trials comps are a lot of fun, glad you found a bracket to enjoy your first comp coming in with all that experience. At 6:24 I noticed you went quick a ways backwards while hopping, is that allowed? I'm still learning the rules and nowhere near expert (and know they vary by club/event).

Thanks for watching! I think it depends on the trials club you belong to. But I’d say say in most, they don’t allow backwards hopping. In Utah they do.
