My first week in Palestine.. what's really happening?

This video was originally recorded in April 2022, during Ramadan while I was in Palestine. I postponed uploading content these past few months while visiting Palestine and Israel because of warnings that the Israeli government can take your laptop, and equipment and ban you from the country if they see you've been to the West Bank and are discussing the occupation. Now that I've returned to the states, I will be slowly pushing out content on my time spent in both Palestine & Israel. I have conducted countless interviews with very interesting people who are doing remarkable work. This video was created during my first week in Palestine. As I look back on this video, I realize how much has changed about me since then. There was this sense of innocence about me that I feel has slowly evolved into maturity. The more Palestinians we spoke to and captured their stories, the more I became involved with this conflict but also detached. Sometimes I felt as though I needed to detach emotionally or else I wouldn't have been able to continue on. The "me" in this video has no idea what she is about to experience in the next couple of weeks and how much it will impact her life. I hope you watch this video with interest and open-mindedness.

Prior to going to Palestine, I thought I knew a lot about what was happening there. However, when I arrived, I was whiplashed by the amount of information I didn't know. I think in spotlighting the stories of Palestinians, it was important to also speak to Israelis because it allows people who watch these videos that don't know much about Palestine, an opportunity to discern for themselves what is happening. Also, there is a lot of value in giving yourself the space to be open to talking to people who you may not share similar politics or ideas with. When you talk to people, you realize who is a product of the system and who isn't.
