So after a year my super red bn plecos finally bred and I pulled the babies and put them in a different tank and put the cave back but a hour later I look in the cave and the male is still in there and won’t come out is this normal!?

I’d like a system like this, but can’t use my tap water for the fish I keep (wild caught plecos and corys). The only fish that does well with our tap water is African Cichlids. Personally, I don’t care much for African cichlids. Most are too common and too easy. BLT with extra extra bacon 🥓 and diet Mtn Dew.

Been watching your video's like crazy, perfect blend of entertainment and information. This video got me thinking....that's a heck of a lot of water. Your water bill must be ridiculous, how do you manage that. I did the math and I might be a little high but that's like 2000 gallons a month. That's a lot of water, is that really necessary? Couldn't you trim that down a bit to maybe 3 times a week. Just trying to educate myself I have a budding fish room starting and trying to not go broke early, LOL. Thanks for the great work and looking forward to the future video's.

Our water isn't metered per individual gallon, so as an example if the house uses 2000-2500 gallons per month it is the same cost.

Hey Michael. Thank you for revisiting your water change system. I don't remember you covering the overflow system in detail. Now I am older than dirt so I have an excuse for not remembering stuff but if you have a video please point me to it. But if you haven't covered it, would you? I am starting the plans on installing a water changing system like yours and it would be nice to have a reliable overflow system before I get started. Thanks for any assistance you can give.

I swear I had to separate my male and female because that's slut laid another clutch of eggs yesterday! Oh well, hopefully they'll be grown out enough to sell by the time other people actually are going back to the pet store.

I am currently doing massive water changes on 2 pleco fry tanks because they are sooooo messy! I couldn't believe my longfin albino is dropping eggs like every 2 weeks! Nice! 👍 Wondering what would be used if one has Chloramines? After dechlorinator my water has 0.25 ammonia. I use a lot of plants and they help process it. But is there a block filter type for ammonia? Hmm.🤔

I’ve seen that water changes are different than adding because of evaporation. I am constantly adding water, and water changes, now problems with cloudy water. Please do a vid on water conditions.

Michael's Fish Room thank you for that suggestion. I was looking through some old fish stuff and found a small china power head that had small china pump in it this last weekend. I used it to put water back into my 72 gallon grow out tank with a crap ton of angelfish. Worked much better indeed
