Hey Eric, please make sure to invest in some kind of security system! Im a mechanic and dealer here in central FL and my locksmith guy just had the same van broken into (2017 Transit). $15k+ in equipment, inventory, and important business documents gone. A team of three thieves managed to decimate his livelihood in 10 minutes. I'm pretty sure Houston is even worse with theft than Orlando is so i would invest in every deterrent possible.
@scotts412511 күн бұрын
I'm an automotive locksmith and I would be curious how they broke in. Those vans are actually hard to do a lockout on if you don't know what you are doing. Maybe they broke a window? 21 and up are even harder. The doors are really thick. If you use airbags it puts so much pressure on the latch they won't open pulling the inside handle. First one I opened took me 30 minutes. I can open one now in 30 seconds. 21 and newer pack a lunch. I don't have an easy way on these yet. Promasters are another fun one to open. Back in the day I had a Ford Econoline broken into. They stole easily replaceable things and inexpensive items. They left my key machines and expensive items alone. I feel for they guy I know what it's like to be violated. I live in a gated community and forgot to lock my truck. Imagine how embarrassing for a locksmith that is. I have the guy on camera. He walked up around 2am, opened the door and stole about $200 of cash I had in the console. I get a lot of tips and just leave the cash there. I had a wallet I keep non ID stuff in he took. I had a $300 flashlight next to the wallet he left that. Didn't touch any of my tools or the laptop sitting right there. Once again pretty lucky but I make sure to keep the door locked now. :)

The idea that someone can work so hard to build their business just to have some worthless thug take it all from them in minutes, makes my blood boil. Houston has really gone downhill in the last decade. The crime here is getting worse. I take lots of precautions and I'm always mindful of my surroundings. It only takes a few minutes for someone to catch you off guard. I'm looking to move someday soon. Somewhere with better weather and some scenery instead of just flat concrete and buildings.

That was the very first thing that came to mind in the last video about him buying the van is how easy it is for the thiefs to get into them which is ridiculous especially how much modern vans cost they should be unbreakable and not made out of tin metal

One very easy way to diagnose the purge is to unplug the electrical connector and the line coming from the canister. Install a vacuum guage on the port where the canister line was connected. Turn the vehicle on and you'll watch the vacuum gauge showing vacuum present. Easy 5 minute diag.

Nice video. I've had this same scanner for almost five years. I will tell you that just because they list all of those service functions does not mean that they all work on your vehicle. My one gripe with Innova has to do with the accessories that came with your scanner. If you buy this scanner from Amazon, they include the case protector, an actual owner's manual, the cord to hook it up to your computer, and a case. When I asked Innova if I could buy the case protector and owner's manual, they told me no and that it was only available to people who bought it off of Amazon. That is a pretty crappy response for a current Innova owner. I also have an older 3140d model that I've owned for years. It's a decent scan tool for the price, especially when it's on sale on Amazon.

The main advantage with the Innova 5610 V2 is in easily getting OBD II Monitor status extremely fast. If your car is operating normally but you have cycled the battery, due to miscellaneous work on the vehicle, you now have to drive the vehicle to get the monitors to pass, and if you need to register the vehicle in many states all monitors have to complete and pass (for later models) in order to register the vehicle during a smog test. So, if you have a check engine light, you really want to know which monitor(s) are incomplete so you can drive the vehicle specifically to address the needed drive cycle behavior (and number of drive cycles) in order to complete the monitors. This is where the 5610 is very effective. Once all monitors are complete you can now smog test the vehicle.

My kind of Logic when it comes to an OEM part that goes bad, especially a Ford. The OEM part fails so we loyal folks buy an OEM replacement only to find it fails down the road. So, now what, keep buying that factory part or make an educated decision to use another brand, a brand that is respectable. My thinking is to use a different brand since the FORD parts are the problem. And likely the other brand is going to be less expensive and have a better warranty, not that those are the focus, but who is fooling who? When loyalty is not appreciated, I move where it is.

Advanced, can you give some advice on my 2006 mercury mountaineer since it is equivalent to your 2008 ford explorer and has the same engine, Sometimes it will stall. The part that is interesting about it is I realize that fuel pressure builds up slower at ignition than the engine running, but when the fuel pressure is around 35 psi during ignition, it will start pretty normal. But when started after around 55 psi during ignition (which is desired), it will stumble and stall out. I can already tell the fuel pressure shouldn’t take that long to build up, so there may be a mismatch between desired and the actual fuel pressure. Also the problem seems to happen when the fuel pressure is close to the desired as well. Additionally, most of the time there’s no dtc’s, but sometimes p0191 will come. Any thoughts?
