People like to crap on people in West Virginia and poor areas, but their efforts go to trying to dig themselves out of their shit holes, not in losing their minds. And that's another factor-- ex industrial towns with no jobs and lots of houses. They're worth like ten bucks, so you can't sell that house and move somewhere better with the money. So they just sit there. And stew. They survive, but like an animal in an old fashioned zoo. So they all go freaking nuts. Seen it plenty.
