TLDR: Your videos literally saved my life. Hey man, I wanted to thank you for your videos and the message you send. I ended up pulling the trigger and buying a bike but thanks to a random video of yours that was on my recommended page, I decided to get a full suit and the best gear I can get, and then spend the remaining budget on a bike. A drunk driver ended up slashing across the freeway into me while I was doing 90 and sent me flying. If it weren't for the gear you recommended I wouldn't still be here today. The message you're promoting and the videos you upload really do save lives. At least you know for sure it saved the life of one 18 year old kid and I want to thank you for that. Keep doing what you're doing and take care of yourself. Cheers.

my youngest son is 24 and had been on a motorcycle since he was 4, just like his older brother, and just like me ( now in my 50s ) a month ago he got clipped by the back of a semi trailer that swerved into his lane on the highway while on his bike. he hit the pavement at over 80mph and was lucky to have not been run over. he suffered a shattered femur and a broken foot and some road rash. His gear saved his life. as a life long motorcyclist, many friends and family have not been so lucky. Keep your head on a swivel and be safe out there, everyone.

Truck drivers have been riding too long on that " if you can't see my mirrors I can't see you " BS. they need 360 sensors and cameras to be made mandatory. It's ridiculous that kind of heavy machinery is allowed to run at those speeds with such flaws in its designs.

I rock geico. My experience was a bit different. I got railroaded by a drunk driver. Geico legit handled everything with my attorney. They even sent me all new gear and a new helmet. The other guy was uninsured and had no license or assets. I didn't have uninsured motorist on my insurance, but Geico honored it anyway. I had almost 500K in medical bills and only paid out my deductible and the ambulance fee. It was expensive, but I didn't even complain. The guys in the ambulance (shout out to Care ambulance los angeles) were amazing.

@adobomoto that sucks. Experiences may vary, it seems. Been with them now for about 15 years. We also have AAA as a backup, they have several tow companies that are exclusive to them in the area as well. If one doesn't have availability, the other should.
@ArcticDM
@ArcticDM Жыл бұрын
@@adobomotothat's most likely the tow company's fault. They can be pretty sketchy especially with motorcycles. They are dispatched by the insurance companies and are told where to go with the number on file. It's unreal how easy it is to click complete on the tow apps without even having to input pictures or times. I used to work for a wrecker service and not everyone there was trustworthy to say the least.

@@morphreynard6764a lot of it has to do with noticing that drivers in my area have gotten very bad. Things I do to help me stay alive and out of trouble, my dad made me ask every old rider we say, what his secret was for staying alive, I still do this today. I never ride with more than 3 to 5 man groups. I have had so many friend crash when riding with 10 plus guys. I never ride beyond my comfort level every time I go riding. The joke is, you can't ride dangerous and be safe at the same time. It's like not wanting to be wet but wanting to be in water. If you want to go fast, go to a track. Doing it on the street doesn't just risk your life, other people don't necessarily want to die from your hands.@@LSB44446

Part of the reason I ride is for my friends who died riding. I know in my heart they wouldn't want me to give up the one thing that we love to do because of them. Started riding 5 years ago in 2018. Best years was 2019 and 2020 riding season. So much fun and adrenaline and excitement. Then 1 friend died from a motorcycle accident year 2021.sad..but ok move on,I still love riding. Then I witnessed 2 crash incident..ok..scary .Then one of my closest riding buddy also died from a motorcycle accident year 2022. That sucked the whole enjoyment of riding for me. I still ride but the vibe is not what it used to be. All I can say is ride safe everyone. Bike Life is good but there are more things in life than riding. Stay safe.

Started riding when I was 19. A childhood friend and I got our bikes for the first time. He died within six months in a brutal accident. Two years later a casual friend died on a bike. A guy down my street rode drunk and smashed his skull. Survived but was acting weird the last time i saw him. A riding buddy lost his toe low sliding into a corner. Many other incidents I witnessed firsthand. 22 years later I'm still riding and never going to stop. The great filter of those that become RIDERS and those that move on happens in the first few years.

It led me to try riding and I'm so glad I gave it my all. I learned lessons that no person could teach me. And it gave me the opportunity to become a better man. So if you or anyone else you know needs to talk about it with someone who's been through it. Reach out to me. I'm here and so are many other survivors. We stick together. Not gonna lie, mototubers don’t speak on losing friends/death on 2 wheels enough. You hear about it, but they don’t stress how serious this 💩 is enough. I kinda understand why, it’s hard to talk about losing people and nobody wants to watch sad content all the time but I don’t think people understand how easy it is to leave on a motorcycle and not come back home. I’ve lost 4 people I knew this year, 1 being a very close friend. It’s to the point where I don’t push people to get a bike anymore, if they chose to ride I commend them but I don’t try to influence people to get one if they’re on the fence. When I lost my friend it took me a few weeks to be myself on the bike again, that’s another thing motovloggers need to cover, coping and getting back on the bike after losing someone

If a light doesn't pick you up to change, or give a turn arrow there are 2 things you can do. 1- Strap a neodymium magnet to the bottom of your bike somewhere, and the lights coil in the ground will pick up the magnetic field and think you're a big truck. Or... 2- call the traffic control office and tell them to turn up the sensitivity of the coil at said light because it doesn't pick up motorcycles. #2 is ultimately time consuming, but it's the best way to do it, because sooner or later, all the lights can get adjusted to pick up bikes if all bikers did their part to help fix the issue.

Progressive Insurance knows exactly how much to charge GSXR riders. 1. BMW S1000R $1200/year full coverage. 2. Suzuki GSXS1000 $300/year full coverage. 3. Suzuki GSXR1000 $2500/year full coverage. 4. Kawasaki ZX6R even higher...

@@gabrieltiso8537 I was going about 50 or so (normal traffic speeds) on a one lane road so i was the oncoming traffic. Wasn't at a light or anything so the lady had stopped in the middle to turn on a side road. She had totally stopped then decided that she would turn last minute leaving me no time to react. Most I could do was the emergency breaking procedure/swerve with what little space I had. Ended up colliding with the back end of the SUV taking off her bumper and sending me flying. Happened literally outside of my neighborhood. Good way to start a Friday am i right? Lol. Got the surgery scheduled this week then court next week since she wants to challenge the ticket since cop made her 100% at fault. Can never be too careful, but thats not gonna stop me !

Most of the professional riders don't ride on the street and I know of some that don't even have a motorcycle license. Take it to the track if you want to have safe fun and enhance your riding skills.

Best thing I ever did was go to a trackday 15 years ago and it slowly took over. Havent rode on the street in years and most of the riders I see on the street ride so bad and so out of their depth that the current stats dont shock me. The inability to lean, the lack of front break use, the lack of emergency breaking, low tire pressures, tire wear, break wear, clothing all add up to dead on arrival. The single greatest thing you can do is go to a few trackdays and actually learn how to ride, how to stop, and how to lean. Everyone thinks they are fast on the highway until you get stuffed in turn 1 by some 13 year old on a 300.

We all lose friends through the years, I’ve lost some to War, Drugs, Cancer, Suicide and Accidents. With bikes it helps a great deal to have a core of experienced middle aged riders and coaches helping new riders get started. It also helps to have new riders that will listen. I for example was adamantly against a female friend in Dallas buying a Busa for a first bike but I was shouted down by the crowd. She died just as I feared that she would because that bike isn’t the best choice for a beginner. I also lost a friend in Phoenix because she put a stretched swing arm on her bike with no rear brakes. I spoke up and listed my concerns but the fan boys shouted me down again and she died. It’s our duty to speak up and voice our concerns but it’s also a new riders duty to consider the source. You just can’t follow in the footsteps of a rider that breaks a bone every year and goes through a few bikes a year without some serious blow back. Find a rider that has about 100,000 behind bars on several different types of motorcycles and keep a close eye on how that rider has stayed safe for all those miles.

This is the biggest reason I got off the street. Had too many people pass away and get hurt and I only rode for 10 months. I bought a dirtbike to stay on 2 wheels and ride track and woods. It's still dangerous but I don't have to worry about all the other people on the streets but still get my fix for 2 wheels.

It’s my first riding season, started in April on a Ninja 500 I bought for 1,500 - it taught me how to ride and how to fix nearly everything that can break on a bike. At the end of august I got hit by some guy that didn’t see me, he was turning left into a plaza and going to opposite direction of me. I thankfully wear all the gear - it saved me from losing my foot entirely, came away with dislocated fractures in my left foot, needed surgery, couldn’t walk for months I’m back in the saddle on an R7, as of yesterday, but the amount of inconvenience, fear and stress it caused my loved ones to watch me recover was difficult to stand.. and I made it, you don’t have to die to make your family sad and scared; it takes one mistake, and it doesn’t even have to be your own.

As someone with a bit of life and riding experience, the evolution of motorcycles is shocking. I rode everything from a 73 H2 to a 1980 GSX 1100 and the 'Indy car like performance' and refinement of modern bikes are too much for the average rider.

I went the route of "Historic" Bikes to save my life, Motto being "It's more fun to drive an old Bike fast than it is to run a new Bike slow". My sportiest Bike now is an All-Chrome Pre-Unit Enfield 500, bored to 535, bigger Cams and Ports, 32 Mikuni Roundslide and opened up Header with a Chrome Sport Muffler. All good for about 32-34hp on mechanical Drum Brakes front and rear. She feels too fast, no matter how fast you are actually going and she has an amazing Vocal variety without ever being annoying or buzzing. Hell, even the Karens love it. And then there is a Ural M72, which has a Boxer 750cc Flathead with 25hp at 3500/min and all of the character of an old Tractor, AWO and EMW which are just gorgeous little thumpers and some old MZ 250s. And while they are much less safe than a modern Bike with Disc Brakes and ABS, I drive with a lot more Care, an open-face helmet to feel the speed and generally get to drive a whole lot less because I usually spend more time caring for and fixing them, which is less time getting killed by ignorant Cars. So, this is my tip for living longer while still being passionate about Bikes. Spend less time riding and get a bike with more smiles per mile than any of these new murder machines can ever hope to get.
