My unexpected game changer was the Neogen Real Cica Pads! Initially didn’t have any high expectations for these, but they ended up being my closest thing to a “HG” and were/are SUCH a gentle and hydrating form of PHA exfoliation for my sensitive skin, especially when my barrier was weakened and it was the only exfoliation I could handle. Still using them to this day and never want to run out! :)

Hi Kelly! I just discovered your channel and I’m SO GLAD I did. I’m new to the K-beauty game, but I can tell you already that I’m never turning back to western skincare. It all started for me when I turned 30 and developed bad rosacea on my cheeks as well as VERY dry skin. I tried everything, no results. Fast forward 7 years and I discovered a Reddit thread about rosacea. Everyone was recommending Korean skincare products. I did a bit of research and made my first Yesstyle order. I’m hooked. I’m going to use your coupon code to make another large purchase today and pick up some of the products you recommended in this video and the video about specific products for different skin types. Thank you so much for your videos. I’m so grateful. Keep up the amazing work and happy thanksgiving!

I wish more people knew the importance of wearing sunscreen when you have acne/pimple damaged skin. That was revelatory to me. And it makes so much sense! Of course you are going to get more sun damage when your skin is already compromised with redness, inflammation and open wounds. I've worked in physical labour jobs most of my life, often outside and I'm in Australia so the sun is particularly harsh. Gawd I used to hate driving to work in the dark and having to slather on thick sunscreen but now I'm glad I did. I have fair skin and have hated sunscreen my whole life because its never been an option for me to go without. But I've decided to order some Korean and Japanese sunscreens so hopefully they will be game changers for me!

Listening to your skincare journey I found myself relating so much! I have oily dehydrated skin and I just started skincare about 3 months ago. I have texture problems, clogged pores, and stubborn post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from years of absolutely refusing to wear sunscreen which sounds so much like what you described in this video. However, seeing what can happen when you take care of yourself gives me hope! My family thinks I’m weird because I disappear in the bathroom every morning and evening and apply sunscreen as much as I remember to (I aim for every two hours, but I’m incredibly forgetful lol), but I don’t think I can go back. I want to take care of me and my skin and this gives me motivation to keep doing just that.

South Korea banned animal testing in 2018. Stay away from the major brands that sell in mainland China which are subject to random animal testing of imported products. And vegan products are gaining traction. K-Beauty websites like Wishtrend and Sokoglam label their vegan items. Omg I totally NEVER wore spf up until a few years ago! Honestly I never knew the diff between chemical & physical and I used to always break out with spf so I just assumed that all spf was not good for my skin. 😱 I hate that I though that way but I know better now. I also LOVE pimple patches because it’s the only thing that has helped my pimple because I used to pick everything sadly. I have many scars from picking and it bothers me but my skin is so much better now and it’s a fight to keep up with it but snail mucin and Startia liquid gold and Krave Beauty GBR are included in my evening/night routine everyday! Thank you for always sharing good products and your knowledge Kelly. I’m still struggling with cleansers because my skin is so sensitive that very few cleansers don’t make me feel dry but I do use many of the ones you mentioned. ❤️❤️❤️

I know sunscreen is important, but you typically have to reapply every 2-3 hours. So if you wear makeup, what do you do then?
@LizaMohanty4 жыл бұрын
Using makeup with SPF. My concealer and bb cream both have spf. Even lip balm and lipsticks do. That's the way to go I guess.
@organicoliveoil20074 жыл бұрын
Liza Mohanty I see what you are saying with using makeup with spf. But even then, you would still need to reapply to stay protected. I have yet to come across an spf product that will protect you from the sun for longer than 2-3 hours. SPF wears off, so while applying spf initially is crucial, I think it's even more important to keep reapplying. I guess powder sunscreen is an option, but honestly, how well can that protect you in comparison to a traditional lotion vehicle where you can layer on enough to significantly cover the exposed areas? I feel like powder sunscreen wouldn't adhere to skin as well, thus giving less sun protection, but I guess it's better than nothing 🤷🏻♀️
@wildbluebell90014 жыл бұрын
@@LizaMohanty Yes. Just don't overcomplicate things like Dr. Dray who reapplies her white sunscreen every 10 minutes or so. 🤦 I mean, you can use powder with SPF but I don't reapply sunscreen on my face. Once in the morning and I am fine. But it depends on where you live, I guess...

Hi! what is the difference between the cera ve moisturizing cream and the ilyoon concentrate ato cream in terms of best ingredients for barrier repairing? and which of the two is better for acne prone dehydrated combo skin? I know cera ve has three different ceramides, while the ilyoon only has ceramide np. does the ilyoon only having ceramide np matter?
@KellyDriscoll4 жыл бұрын
I believe that illiyoon has a higher ceramide percentage but that info is hard to discern as no one releases percentages! I don't know what your acne triggers are so I can't say on that front but I do find them to be comparable in their effects for protecting against dehydration. Cerave is a bit more water based while illiyoon has more emolliency.
