@@joeracer302 yeah, they’re a very taboo topic on f chat. There are other sources of parts out now, at least for the 360/430, that look extremely promising. I would definitely not accept that rev-hang. The clutch/next gear is pulling down the revs and eventually the clutch will wear out much quicker… Much nicer, and more fun - to manage the rev drop by your self with the throttle.
@jamie101010 Жыл бұрын
The shift on this looks a lot better than previous 599 conversions, but still not as slick as a great shifting car - such as a 550. Programming in the rev hang is a great solution, but it sounds strange. I wonder if the programming could be updated to model the decay in revs of an engine with a higher mass flywheel. There also looks to be some refinement available in the shift action- maybe synchros, and cable friction as mentioned.

@volvo09 Жыл бұрын
It is necessary when not on a track going balls out all the time. The revs fall past the next gear ratio and give you a jerky experience on public roads. Unless you swap in a heavy flywheel, I'd want the programming.

@@josephmaldonadojr4692 in a regular street car it is annoying... I believe it's done there for emissions (from what I've heard), suddenly closing the throttle plate is no good for emissions. If you follow the auto industry at all, you would know that rev hang can be prevalent...like in the Honda Si with 1.5L turbo and it is a 'scourge' and a reason most purists won't go anywhere near such a car. I believe Hoovie will dump this conversion gone wrong within 6 months. Not just programming affects shift performance. Driveline inertia and flywheel weight are huge including harmonic compliance built into all driveline contact pts with the chassis. Hoovie is not willing to go and 'reinvent' this Ferrari to make it right. He will dump it. My prediction. Conversions like this often never live up to expectation because Ferrari driveability that Ferrari engineer's anguish over is a very high bar. I am an automotive engineer and understand the disciplines involved FWIW.

Those cars with a manual from the factory are pushing one million dollars as only a few exist. The manual conversion is about 100k just for the conversion. You can get the auto for about 200k and convert for 100k so 300k for a converted manual which is well below the 7 figures for the factory manual. Well done and great car!!!!
