The heart of the show is Mando and the child. You don’t need to watch clone wars and rebels to understand it. You just won’t be able to point at the screen and yell “LOOK. IT’S THE CHARACTER FROM THE THING. I KNOW WHO THAT IS.”

True but whoever played kotor to death like myself liked the krayt dragon hunt much more.
@toamszkozak88224 жыл бұрын
But it is much better to understand it all, the more that there will certainly be more characters from the animation, such as Sabine. Besides, the topic of getting Mandalore back will definitely be an important thread in the future of the show. Noi, if there is a series about Ahsoka, then you will definitely have to watch clone wars and rebels (besides, they are great series)
@J_Tevo4 жыл бұрын
Sure, but when you see Bo and she talks about everything. Knowing the history really gives emotional resonance along with weight of the words that they speak. If you haven't seen CW/Rebels for example when she talks about who she is, it won't come across as bittersweet as Katie's acting allows it to be. She just becomes another sidequest character like Frog Lady to the average viewer, which is kinda disappointing because of how great she is, which they may never fully get to experience due to dancing around topics.

But the show is made in a way that even if you’re not so deep into the “✌️lore✌️” you can still enjoy the heck out of it and know what’s going on with the shows core characters. ALSO! Knowing how much Holden loves star wars, and Jen being so new to Star Wars, it’s very nice to be able to see the perspective of fans in your positions that HAVEN’T seen Clone wars or Rebels while watching this show. Hey, Holden and Jen. I don't know why the Jon Favreau-directed premiere didn't knock your socks off but I felt it was a phenomenal kick-off to the season with several Easter Eggs and a HUGE reveal! Those were pig-faced Gamorreans vibroaxe-fighting in the ring! You've previously seen porkers like them serving as guards in Jabba's palace. The Abyssin who double-crossed Din at the fighting den was played by John Leguizamo. Amy Sedaris reprises her role as Peli Motto, the Mos Eisley mechanic with her "Phantom Menace" pit droid crew. The old astromech, R5, in Motto's garage is the same one the Jawas passed off to Uncle Owen with the bad motivator in "A New Hope"! It still has the scorch marks around the motivator port! Luke told his uncle about the lemon he'd purchased and suggested Artoo instead at Threepio's urging. The rest is history! Timothy Olyphant of "Deadwood" and "Justified" shows up as Cobb Vanth, a live-action iteration of a character from the "Aftermath" trilogy of novels! He uses a repurposed turbine from Anakin's podracer in "Phantom Menace" as a jerry-rigged landspeeder! He wears the Mandalorian ARMOR OF BOBA FETT purchased from Jawas! You saw that it was ill-fitting but you didn't recognize Boba's gear, Holden! Over the course of the animated "Clone Wars", you witness young Boba grow to manhood. In a story arc that never got completed, Boba takes down the series' top bounty hunter, Cad Bane, receiving a BLASTER DENT to his helmet that is visible in the movies and this episode at 5:02. That duel confers upon him the title of the most dreaded bounty hunter in the galaxy! I hope Filoni gets an opportunity to show us that story at some point either animated or live. We learn that there are multiple uses of the gaffi stick the Tuskens carry as weapons! One raider was using the blunt end to clean his bantha's teeth! Din conversed with Tuskens using sign in Episode 5. In this episode, he uses his knowledge of Sandpeople lingo to broker a truce between the Mos Pelgo townsfolk and the local Tusken tribe to mount a hunt against a krayt dragon! The Tuskens recover a KRAYT PEARL! Krayt dragons swallow rocks which sometimes contain precious gems. The rocks get lodged in the gizzard and serve to pulverize food undergoing a great deal of friction over time that exposes the gems and rounds them into spheres much like a grain of sand accumulating accretions that are rounded into pearls within oysters. Fragments of such pearls can be used as substitutes for kyber crystals in lightsabers while intact pearls are of immeasurable value! The final revelation is of a mysterious robed figure armed with a rifle and a gaffi stick who bears the scarred and weathered face of none other than Temuera Morrison who played clone template Jango Fett! This can only be Boba Fett himself! The Expanded Universe long established the dreaded bounty hunter had survived the Sarlacc but Disney just canonized it! BOBA FETT LIVES!!!!! Season 2, Episode 2: I liked how Din deftly recovered from the bounty hunters' tripwire by using his jetpack to stabilize his tumble! I also liked how he tricked the little cutthroat whose reach definitely exceeded his grasp. If you re-see Season 1, Episode 5, you'll notice both Dr. Mandible and the Frog Lady as regulars of the Mos Eisley cantina! Amy Sedaris returns as Peli Motto yet again and scams Din out of a nice chunk of change! When Sedaris first appeared, I found her character to be truly poignant. She was a homely, lonely woman who had long given up maternal ambitions only to have such feelings stirred up by her brief custodianship of the yodaling. She reminded me of the country wife who has a brief taste of romance and adventure only to have it leave as quickly as it came in Hitchcock's "39 Steps". Now, Peli's a semi-regular and has become more of a kooky aunt as the producers tap her comedic talent. Misty Rosas, the performance artist who portrayed Kuiil in Season 1, is the same performer enacting the Frog Lady. Ms. Rosas is also a singer, songwriter, dancer and stuntwoman. I found her body language and the head prosthetic's expressiveness combined to make a deeply affecting character particularly when she was pleading with Din to honor their arrangement. The Frog Lady's vocalizations were by Dee Bradley Baker who provided the voice for all the clones in the animated "Clone Wars". The New Republic X-wing pilots had a warrant for Din's arrest over his involvement with freeing Qin from the prison transport in Season 1, Episode 6. They let him go when they realized he tried to save the guard's life and incarcerated his own cohorts after they betrayed him. Animation head, show producer and episode director Dave Filoni reprised his role as X-wing pilot Trapper Wolf! Brit comic Richard Ayoade returned to voice the treacherous Zero from Season 1, Episode 6! Apparently, Din kept the insectoid droid's dismantled body aboard to strip for parts which proved fortunate for the Frog Lady who uses him to communicate! The poor Frog Lady can't be blamed for wandering off because she's a cold-blooded amphibian! That hot spring was precisely what she and her eggs required to prevent hypothermia! I like how she goes into full frog mode by snatching her gear with her tongue and by hopping ahead of Din! Lol. You called it, Holden! That cave full of egg sacs gave me some serious "Alien" flashbacks! If Matt or Jen haven't seen it, that's a MUST-SEE reaction video waiting to happen! I feel gratified that this episode of "The Mandalorian" gave us the giant ice spiders we were promised on "Game of Thrones" yet never got to see! Lol. You'd think the yodaling would have felt indebted to the Frog Lady for coming to his defense but the little brat just kept sucking down her eggs! The episode was directed by Peyton Reed who helmed two MCU films, "Ant-Man" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp". The guy's building up a buggy resume!

Cobb Vanth is the best thing to come out of 2020! I enjoyed his part in the books, and now Timothy Olyphant brought him to light and made him even better.

Holden, I understand how you felt about the spoilers. I didn't watch the trailer but I got a lot of spoilers from Facebook. Even the publicity about Facebook groups related with Star Wars showed me spoilers.

The Krayt Dragon from the first episode is the animal that Obi-Wan makes the call for to scare off the Tusken Raiders, when we are first introduced to him in A New Hope.

Yesss X-Files references... love it. I am watching the Mandalorian series along with these videos, and I appreciate the Mandalorian for further expansion in the Star Wars story.

so the huge marble in the krayt dragon is known as a krayt pearl and is incredibly rare the klrayt dragons eats stones to help it digest which generally break down over time but everyonce in a while the stone is made of Kyber krystals which are essentially hardened and polished inside the dragon as they dont dissolve to the stomach acids

The recurring characters do not require necessarily to watch these material first, but honestly they make their appearance 2000 times better

If you two are short on time: Star Wars: Clone Wars - 2003 Is a very brief but intense introduction to the massive conflict the clone wars was. It'll introduce some characters you never got to see in the films. Please consider adding to your watch lists? Thank you. 😊

The clone wars is actually amazing! some of the best star wars content there is! also definitely recommend watching it in chronological order instead of release order as the show was released as an anthology series and was released not in chronological order but this mostly only affects the early seasons.

Used to farm them in SWG. Those had 4 legs though and didn’t burrow.
