Your videos have changed my life both for skin and hair! It turned out, that the simplicity is our best friend- less is obviously more! This year I found out about ceramides and it has been a huge contribution to my skin. Also I got rid of all the harmfull stuff as far as skincare goes. we dont have anything but Cetaphill here where I live, BUT even it alone works better than aaaall the hundreds of bottles I used to have.... Thank you sooooo much!

"That kind of compulsion speaks to me" I love it! Oddly, today I was wondering what shampoo frequency you'd recommend to maintain healthy scalp and follicles? I have very long, soft, baby fine hair. I wear it in a loose bun most of the time. No hair color or heat styling ever. My habit is to shampoo and condition 1-2 X a week depending on when it starts to look greasy. I'm 67 so my skin and scalp are drier than when I was young. I have no dandruff or scalp irritation. BTW, love your channel!

I also do not color treat my hair. I find that using only conditioner every other day is the best thing I’ve done for my hair. I rub it through well and leave it on while I shower. I add water at the end and scrub it through. It gets a sudsy feel and no more dry hair! I use the thick stuff too! It does NOT make my hair greasy and rinses out perfect. I wish someone would have told me years ago that you could do that without it leaving your hair greasy! I have normal to dry hair.

Dr. Dray , I appreciate your no-fuss, no-nonsense approach to your hair routine. Clearly your life's purpose is far more important than making yourself "pretty" for society. It is a significant time-consuming task to keep hair styles and color on trend. I do wish to ask if are you opposed to coloring hair from a scientific perspective, and do you subscribe to the parafin-free and sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners to prevent breakage? your feedback would be appreciated. Thanks so much for being so genuine! It is truly refreshing.

Love your attitude towards your hair. In fact could hardly stop smiling. That could have been me describing my "styling technique". At age 64 I still refuse to color my hair. I am in a work situation where I have to keep up a neat appearance. My dad did begin lose his hair in his fifties, but what remained never turned gray until the start of his 70s. I am just now starting to see gray streaks however am rather disappointed that I am not completely gray. Going gray seems to be quite the style. I really have never had the time to deal with hair styling. My hair is straight, fine textured and I find putting it up in a bun, french braid too one side if not entirely dry in the morning will give me two days out of a single shampooing. The second day I have waves lol. I do my own trims and love long hair (a bit passed middle of my back). I do tend to develop contact dermatitis and have a fear of using hair chemicals due to this. In addition I found that during pregnancies my hair was at it's very best. After giving birth the shedding was at it's worst. My ob/gyn advised me that in many woman hair does not complete it's natural loss and regrowth cycle and what seems to be excessive hair loss postpartum in reality is the hair's return to it's natural cycle. Am curious as to your thoughts regarding this. I am currently extremely stressed due to planning my retirement. I did use close to three weeks of left over annual leave to see what life would be like as an aging, stay at home house wife. I have not noticed extra hair loss, but considering my frame if mind, along with the three months it takes to be noticeable I may be well on my way to baldness. Well hats, scarves, and wigs may be in my future or I may end my thoughts concerning retiring lol. Hubby has suggested cooking classes.......held my emotions to myself as a prison term was never included in my plan. Tomorrow is my first full day back at work. I cannot express how appreciative I am for your amazingly informative channel. You are a breath of fresh air, not to leave out an absolute natural beauty.

The scientific reason “hair” should be washed every night is that when we do so, we are actually washing our scalp which ends up smelling badly as we sweat and accumulate grime on it. I. have tried not to wash my hair everyday. I just can’t sleep with unwashed scalp. I do have dryish hair, but you know what that’s why leave in conditioners were made.

Greetings Dr Dray! As for tomorrow's Q&A, could you please offer your professional opinion on those sonic facial cleansing devices(i.e. Clarisonic)? I remember in your 'No Scrub' video, you talked about physical exfoliation only serves to irritate epidermis and pimples and flaky skin cells further clog our pores, so it defeats the purpose to use those scrubbing devices, especially everyday. However, many 'beauty experts', even some dermatologists, rave about using them on a daily basis. Is this only a marketing hype that needs to be debunked? Thank you! Your opinions have always been extremely informative and helpful.

Thank you so much for your sweet comment! Lol! "Clinique" is just what I say for "clinic." I don't buy anything from clinique. Hope you are having a great night!

Love your vlogs ! How do you sleep with the clips in your hair? I'd like to try it but I'm a back sleeper.
