I try never to worry about a couple of hours awake in the middle of the night . At one time people were used to having two sleeps in one night . They maybe got up and did a few jobs , maybe had a light meal . There are examples of this in books such as Wuthering Heights and Dickens . The trick is not to stress - just lie peacefully in a comfortable bed , maybe gather your thoughts and count your blessings and occasionally have a warm drink .

I lost 50 lbs. by eliminating all carbs from my diet (I had eliminated sugar long before) and walking every day (one day off per week). I started out just going around the block, but worked up to a 90-120 minute walk each day and the weight fell off rapidly. I’m now normal weight, but feel I still have too much visceral fat, so I’m thinking of losing another 10 lbs. or so. Thanks for sharing this with us, Maria, health is so important in our 50s and beyond,❤

Yes it’s called Combe Grove and I would recommend it as it has a GP and nutritionists. It’s a commitment because its 6 days but for me was definitely worth it 👍

So interesting Maria. Seems like you were intermittent fasting. Was the recommendation to continue with 2 meals per day? I think if we all really understood nutrition much better we would be in a better place. You do need the proper guidance to be eating the right things for you. Fascinated by how good you felt after your therapies. Would you say it was a worthwhile investment Maria to go through the programme and improve your knowledge? Thank you for sharing your journey. Xx

I think it’s very beneficial if you need to lose weight and improve your nutrition. It’s a commitment because it’s 6 days but it’s really informative. My only negative is that communication since leaving hasn’t been brilliant but I think that’s more of an admin issue I couldn’t fault the on-site staff x
