I think the Grindr comment was put there to immediately make Wille aware that Marcus was gay/not straight which means "not just a friend/ride for Simon. Very clever writing, you can see how Wille is instantly concerned. We also learn that Nils is gay by that one line. Very, very efficient writing.

First of all, thanks A LOT for your reaction! I really-really waited especially for your reaction, because I can somehow relate to your thoughts and opinions so much that it feels kinda weird for me) When I've watched Young Royals' Season 2, which was really good, but left me with that strange feeling of confusion, so I lied in my bed in the darkness and wondered, like, "I enjoyed this, right? But why I'm so confused, like I don't really know what I truly feel about the season?" I needed for the second opinion so bad! And not some random second opinion, I felt that I need YOUR opinion! Okay, that sounds definetely weird, but that's the way I live my life anyway) So, I can't say much about episode 1 at the moment because then I will talk about all things in general and I don't want to spoil anything to anyone, so for now I'll just say that season 2 was a mess for me, and not only in a good way, like the creators included so many things that they maybe just drowned in it and missed some stuff. That's how I feel. In any case, can't wait for your next reactions. Take care!

Some thoughts, hope they're not coming across as too crass that's not my intention. I'm just very enthusiastic lol. To bridge the gap of understanding, yes Sara is exhibiting normal teenager behaviour. All the intimacy in YR is portrayed in a realistic way, I'd say. It's beautiful and I hope it changes the way intimacy is depicted in the future. Not even telling Simon that he changed his mind was a really shitty thing to do though. I mean, the betrayal of it. If he did and they talked about it, he could at least have changed the wording. That "not engaging in any emotional relationship" was a really low blow. Well August's - and everybody's - behaviour is decided by his brain so it's definitely something wrong with it. Some people call it emotional immaturity, emotional malformation, stunted emotional growth, others call it narcissism. He's still young enough to grow out of it, but it requires some extremely harsh consequences for his actions, and him understanding exactly why what he did was wrong. That's hard for people growing up with a hierarchical mindset and never were held accountable for their behaviour. How can Marcus hae feelings for Simon, he doesn't even know him. If he has, they're for a fantacy, not the real Simon at all, and that's nothing to be sympathetic about. I have a lot of sympathy for Wilhelm, but he's also a selfish little shit, totally clueless of the pain he caused Simon. And Simon is so good at containing his emotions that a lot of people don't notice he hurts at least as much as Wilhelm.

There is so much mirroring throughout the whole season. You picked up so quickly on all the parallels - the same scene almost repeated but with a different perspective. At first I wasn't sure if this somehow got in the way of the plot and made some situations seem a bit forced. It will be interesting to see the rest of your (really insightful) reactions as the season progresses. Having rewatched Season 2 it is growing on me - Season 1 was always was always going to be a hard act to follow!

I'm one of the few people who don't outright hate Marcus even after everything so sorry 😬 I don't like him but I don't think he's as bad as most of the fandom is making him out to be. I'm especially cautious with him as a character bc compared to the others, we don't get to see his pov at all. So it's harder for the audience to empathise with him I guess? (To be clear I'm not a Marcus apologist, he's definitely better out of Simon's life)

You sounded like a swede when you said Markus at 4:02. Like I had to replay it lol. It was like 95% perfectly pronounced (maybe you pronounce it pretty much the same in french? Idk 😅).
