I had wondered on this after viewing the van tour. Thanks for making the video. Great choice in brew too. Also starting to put my tool kit together. Took advantage of Veto 20% trade school discount. Went with Tech Pac and just received my own 10pc Wiha insulated screwdrivers. Always best to research for quality tools that will last the test of time. Thanks for all the information you've provided to those of us as upcoming apprentices. Loving the FUN videos as well... how can you not crack up while filming them... amazing!

Thanks for the video! I am getting into HVAC now. This Monday the 21st I start Tech school here in Kansas. I got out of the service back in 2014. Tried to figure out what I wanted to do with my life till now. Using the GI bill for school. Its great. I just picked up a new bag from dewalt did a review on it. Its my first video so not the best! Thank you for your service!

I switched from a 50lbs toolbox to a 30lbs toolbox to a TP5B with just the essentials. I take a bucket with some extra tools necessary for the job (think a brush or a large knipex cobra) I’m doing at the moment. I don’t have back m/knee problems yet as I’m still young, and I like to keep it that way!

I literally just purchased that little gear wrench SAE/Metric 1/4" ratcheting set bc as you are right, they are LIFE savers...I have the Klein and Craftsman ones, but they only come with driver bits and NOT sockets...and the Wera Tool Check Plus is just too expensive for me....Thank you! This little set will go EVERYWHERE with me!

if you want a tip. sears, imho has the best 4" crescent wrench... it's craftsman brand and opens about as wide as a 6in or 8in. Well, it opens wider than most other brand 4in wrenches. good setup.

I recently got my primary service bag (plumber) just the way I want it. Everything I need and nothing I don't. The only problem is when I went to pick it up it was too damn heavy. Weighed in at 50lbs. Oh well, back to the drawing board I guess...

Excellent video. Its easy to tell you put some serious thought into how your bag is organized. Im an audio/ video contractor and i used to use the LC but i kept adding more and more tools so i upgraded to the Tech XL and the regular XL. I NEVER carry those bags. I use a wheelie and a bungee cord to secure the bag when pulled. Granted i carry it when in a customers home but try to save my back. If you eventually go the Tech XL you will be able tp place your impact inside your bag. I found a way with the larger bags to include an 18 volt drill and 12 volt driver inside with batteries. Dug your video and your set up. Gave me a few ideas. Thx

D. Knibb thanks for your feedback and watching the video! I think the XL will be purchased in the very near future. The A/V world seems like a pretty cool and niche trade. I hope it's treating you well.

I like the Fluke kit but I am thinking really not necessary. I have some large jumper wires and some smaller ones. I just clip them onto my meter leads. Been doing this 20 years and they have always worked for getting a reading. It wouldn't hurt to have that kit on the van though just in case I had a really stubborn location to try to get a meter lead onto.

Hey AK. A little FYI the husky wrenches are made by gear wrench. If you are looking to save some money,you can by the huskies instead of gear wrench.

Love the video. Got a newbie question. Which size Schrader core remover tool is used for commercial and industrial hvac
@AKHVAC
@AKHVAC 7 жыл бұрын
If you just mean a standard core "driver" like you find on some 11 in one screwdrivers, they're all the same size. If you mean actual valve core removal tools, which allow you to change valve cores without recovering the refrigerant first, then they all use the 1/4' core tool. The exception is mini splits and VRF equipment, which use a 5/16" tool.

Good video, but a little sketchy in places, for the lay person, e.g. I don't know what that gauge in the blue box is all about, and I don't have x-ray. vision to see inside those pouch/packages in the backside of your bag, so I don't know what you're talking about.
@AKHVAC
@AKHVAC 6 жыл бұрын
In my defense, the video is made by an HVAC tech for other HVAC techs to help them with ideas for their tool setup...but I'll work on broadening my verbiage to possibly include lay people looking to enter the trade. Thanks for watching hg2

Tyler Habberfield I have many doubles of hand tools...however I've been using this bag more often now that summers in full swing, so I moved my 12v impact and a few of my pliers over to the bigger bag.
