All 4 movies are canon, Deku’s Va confirmed they’re in the same timeline as the anime, and todoroki I’d va recently said it’s in the same timeline as the manga(paraphrasing). Hori puts the movie characters in the manga and some items(Deku’s gauntlets). And he tells us where some of the movies takes place(including this one).

Just telling you this now, if movies are canon the series makes significantly less sense. Dubbing them as canon is literally just making Horikoshi’s main manga less competent.

It is canon. It's more of a side story/high stakes filler

And that's how they should do anime films. Just look at the series timeline, and look for timeskips or good moments to slot them in as big budget epic events for the fandom. Normally the main arcs are long and world impacting, but keep movies as isolated short and minor adventures. Manga is great but anime really works better for telling the story of an action heavy anime like Shonen anime, as animated we can see the flow of the action and fights, much better then just still images for the manga, as either they need to fill up 1 or a couple chapters with fight detail so we can follow what's going on, or they keep the fight very minimal and make it kind of boring.

It makes no sense for this movie to be canon. The time frame is very low. The villains already had the numbers advantage in the canon manga. And this takes place in like 3 days between deku rests and finding out aoyama is the traitor? 💀 This sh1t is literally not canon but the characters are. The characters exist but not the events of the story. The only "hard" canon movies are 1 and 2

Buddy, the movies are canon. If you happen to be caught up with the current season, you’ll see why they are canon. It’s just that they don’t correlate and effect into the direct story of the season, but the movies, either hint at things to come in the season and stuff like that, but yes, the movies are canon.

uhm the movies are cannon. (or at least partially) the characters from the movies were recently shown in the anime. Can't wait to watch this movie.

@@ZachPopeReviews THey are, it's just that there's historically been a trend where movies like Dragon Ball's either can't fit intot he timeline or since the author likely didn't make it themself it's just considered "non canon", even if the film could fit. Then there's the thing where the events of the film rarely get mentioned if at all in the actual managa or anime, so even if it does fit you got this wierd thing where characters mention past events but for some reason not the movie events. WHich is a shame as alot of anime/manga can have timeskips. Dragon Ball Z had a couple missed oppertunities for this such as the 3 years when Goku returned to Earth and Frieza died, they waited 3 years for the androids to appear like Trunks said. No films set there. THen there's a wierd case where int he anime a film's events were mentioned yet the film couldn't have occurred. THis being the Dead Zone movie but the beginning details contradict the beginning of Dragon Ball Z, yet the villain Garlic Jr returns in the filler arc named after him. Yah anime movies can be wierd.

Bakugo hands down had one of the best one liners out of this entire franchise in just this one film. I'm not gonna say what that line is for those who haven't the film but for those of course who have; and wondering which one I'm referring it's the one he says at the end of the dungeon battle when facing one of the bad guys. They should put that line on a T-Shirt.

My problem with the movie was dark might should if had a more of a connection with almight also bring that would be the reason to ruin Almights rep. Also those strong gorilla minons should have been a combo of nomos and dark / almight clones with dark and almights powers. Since all of UA looks up to almight it would of had a more emotional aspect to the world and their connection with almight.. I also wish they would have brought almight in to the story. Other than that i loved the rest of the movie and i like how dark might over acting. Over all i loved it. If u havent watched it go see.

A- rating, just behind Heroes Rising. The ensemble work of the rest of 1A was superb but not quite as well integrated as the second movie. The appearance of the other heroes in almost a support capacity was very telling. The integration of the Italian family storylines and their quirks was totally unexpected and well developed. Overall just a great movie, superbly done by Studio Bones. (Am I the only one that noticed that they didn’t grey-out the flashy battles like in the previous movies?)

I think the series should continue. They already have another side series they could adapt into anime as well as many great characters they could make spin off miniseries or movies for. I think My Hero Academia could get a Marvel Comics treatment. There are some anime/manga series I'd love to see get more content made for them and made as big and continuing as Dragon Ball.

The last movie is not canon. Idk what people think 💀. But.... The characters are canon however( 4rth movie characters are anime canon). There is no no way this movie took place between deku resting at U.A and finding out aoyama is the traitor. No way all these happened in 3 days and they went to fight the war. Also bones have contract to produce a lot of theatre releases like OVAs and movies. The only hard canon movies are 1 and 2. Thats about it.

He never confirmed it. No author does. All the say is the movies are taken with canon intent. They never outright say its canon. The only reason is being horikoshi is obligated to do that much to promote the movie
