In today's video I start to add more personal touches and details to my tiny home on wheels which is a medium wheelbase Fiat Ducato camper van. Since making the van feel more my own I've absolutely loved spending time in it and it's beginning to feel like home.

I always stick a bit of BluTack over my led lights... easy to remove and a small ball lets a tiny glow show through, or a bigger blob hides the light completely :)

black electrical tape should cover the usb charging lights, you only need to cut out some small squares or even circles. Why didn't you paint the van bulge with the same paint colour, you did the walls with(behind fruit net). Will(question not your name!) you need No Nails to put up the thicker rope as the staple gun may not be big enough. just suggestions mate.

The tap will have just vibrated itself loose Will, a good thickness rubber washer is usually enough on motorhomes and just get it properly tight. Loving the Tee too, cracking merch!! Try a small piece of black insulation tape over those little annoying LED lights ;)

For the LED cover up... I have used car paint touch up paint. Similar but different than nail colors. The automotive paint adheres well and dries quickly. Get black and give that a try. Using tape wont last, it will peel in the heat of summer. Also, if ordering DC usb sockets in the future be sure to get red indicators. Red is much easier for nighttime viewing and sleeping. Blue sucks!

Maybe get a string of tiny Christmas lights that has a color changing remote to put along the new greenery above the back door. Black electric tape has covered so many unwanted lights and gauges. Or take the charging unit out and disconnect that little blue light. You have done a great job making the van more like home. Thanks for sharing and have a grand day.

For your led lights, they sell appliance touchup paint that comes in a thing about the size of a marker. You unscrew the top and there is a tiny brush inside. I believe that will work on the led.

Love that your starting to enjoy your hard work Will, re the led light, most LED lights run on approximately 3v what you can do is put 12v across the actual led and blow the led make sure its only the led itself you do this too, then you will be able sleep without that blue led keeping you awake

Yes you could put black tape over the light as i have done on a timer i have but another suggestion would be get some Tip Ex put one coat on let it dry then a second coat let it dry. Then once dry use the Black Sharpy to cover over the Tip Ex. Nice to see you put a net in front of that thing you wanted to hide.

I used black acrylic paint to block out the red IR lights on an IP cam ...Worked a treat and you can buy a black acrylic pen from amazon for £3/4....

Hi Will. Try a thing called a Top hat, for your tap, it puts pressure on the nut when you tighten it and stops it working loose. Ask in any plumbers merchants, or places like that… keep up the good work. 🤙🤙🤙

Not sure if its been mentioned but your water tanks are upside down. They are normally mounted the other way up and inspected from the top. The hatch covers are not water tight.

A simple way to cover annoying LED is a tape, not pain or ink. Black electric tape or duct tape is a good way to start you might need two-layer. Even if the final color should not be back you should start with that because it is better for blocking light. I have tried to cover a LED with white tape and even with multiple layers light did get through. I ended up with black tape to block the light and white tape on top for the color. You can glue a bit of paper or anything else on the tape for better color matching It might not look the best and can fall off but it is simple and works. The temporary nature can be an advantage if you ever need to know if the led is on or off if there is some problem you need to diagnose.

Keeping it even simpler …USB light…if you can get to the wiring of that socket, ie pull it out or unscrew the mounting plate, it should have 3 pins, possibly…..depending on how it is wired up, you could by trial and error, ( ok Will, you only have 2 attempts, ) try pull one of the red wires and see if that just controls the light. There should be 2 red wires, try those two. You will also have a black wire, it won’t be that.

Black vinyl. Will block the light out. Or buy some black dots. Also your sink. Put a a brace under the sink tap. Basically a piece of wood. With the hope drilled out for the tap. And fix to the unit either side this will stop the issue.. because the flex in the sink with vibration etc this will reduce it ..

Like you, I prefer to sleep in absolute darkness. I use small pieces of black electrical tape (cut to fit) to cover the lights of certain devices that remain on at night (like my modem for example). It works perfectly, and is easily removable if/when necessary.

As for your floor cabinet build a double drawer that pulls out from the end not the front then you could put shoes or what ever standing outside if you want It wont take up room as if you pull drawers out by your bed

Electrical/duct tape for the LED's, some loctite for the tap, and the current accepted term is cross dressers, although, you don't have to be a cross dresser to wear nail varnish!

Get a pack of blu-tac and pinch off pieces to press over led's, worked for me , great 'homey ' ideas Will and really make it cosy, love from Somerset
