There is definitely something wrong with being fat. At least my brother has muscles under his and at least when I was obese I was the strongest in my year for 5 years straight. I lost weight because at one point I realize the fat jokes we're true. That women not only don't find yiu attractive, they get pushed away. So I put it at the top of my priority and lost the weight. It was hard. I dont see why we should lie and say you are healthy despite being fat. All the fat members of my family can't jog, some can't jump, and even my brother has no stamina. It's just so fking sad and depressing. Imagine not being able to jump.... what kinda fking life is that... stop trying to dig this whole for people. If I heard your nonsense a year ago when I was still in highschool I would probably have wasted that entire time being fat too. I was bad at sports because I was fat (easily fell over, couldn't jump high, had bad stamina), people thought I was scary because of how big I was, couldn't even wear a single school sweater till I was about to graduate and finally lost my weight. Girls generally found me unattractive. Once I was even hugged and the girl was like "you have bear gut..." I was absolutely cooked when I heard that. Just ignored it as usual and didn't take it to mind.but then things went down hill from there. It's just how things are. Yes we shouldn't make them feel horrible for being fat, but lying to them and telling them being fat is healthy is just as bad.

It’s ok to have biases. And it’s ok to not be happy with what you see in the mirror. If you don’t like your beard, shave it or change the style. Don’t like your haircut, change it. Cut it. If you don’t like your size, either you’re skinny or fat, make the change. This change is, like Myron said, easy. Go work out. It’s tough. So is working your way up to the top to become a manager, learning a skill, etc. being a goal oriented, hard working person is hard but worth it in the end for people who put in the time and effort. (TL;DR - endomorph aka heavy set people appreciation topic. You can scroll somewhere else now, but thats all im gonna talk about for the most part.) Tevin made a great point talking about how everyone absorbs nutrients differently, which is why it took Myron 2 years to " bulk" and then shedded that weight off in 7 months (which i still question). Hes probably an ectomorph, where its difficult to put on weight but super easy to burn the fat and lose weight. Tevin is probably more on the endomorph side, where he can put on weight super easy, but burning it is a difficulty. There are tons of people with a endomorph body type that arent lazy, especially power lifters. The whole point of Thor's look in god of war was the power lifter look (seeing he was described in norse mythology as someone who drank the ocean, shrinking its tides, & a god that ate children. . . as well as being the only one that can lift Mjolnir, making him the strongest of all the gods). There are many heavy set people who are the opposite of lazy. Theres Mark Henry; a professional wrestler, power lifter & the other man to ever pick up the Inch dumbell, outside of Thomas inch (dubbed the worlds strongest man in the power lifter world, since the 90s). Mestre Muralha SAJ (aka Jirlan Nascimento); A master in the martial art "Capoeira". Even Chris Barnett; a 5'9", 250lbs+ MMA fighter with experiences in wrestling, judo, and a 3rd Dan Black belt in TKD. Being fat doesn't equate to lazy. I think Greg is conflating the Body Positivity movement with the HAES (healthy at every size) movements. There are people who genuinely believe that you can be healthy no matter what your size is. Unfortunately, being on either end of the spectrum (over weight or under weight) has its own set of health problems that comes with it.
@clbrans17 ай бұрын

@Phobos20857 ай бұрын
Well, from my perspective, there are a lot of people trying to take "understand, be happy with, but take care of your body" and "weight doesn't matter. Do what you want." The messaging is confusing. However, Greg even admits here and in his own videos that weight matters as much for obesity as it does for professional bodybuilders. So there are two different points. Weight is unhealthy no matter the body fat percentage and body fat is unattractive.
@Nameless_mixes7 ай бұрын
@@Phobos2085You’re absolutely correct. I’m just trying to explain that some people see it as “I can love myself, be confident in myself, feel beautiful, and feel worthy of love at any size” (which I’m totally here for because we’re an amalgamation of our qualities). And then there are others who are like “I got triggered going to my doctor’s office because they had a BMI chart and told me that all of my health problems would be solved if I ‘lost some weight’. Diet culture is toxic!” And I think a lot of people on the more fitness/health side of things, that maybe have never struggled with their health and physique, might not realize that more people are aware that being overweight comes with a lot of detriments to one’s health. Those trying to push the narrative that health is unrelated to size, shape, and weight are a very loud minority in the grand scheme of things.

Appreciate you offering more thoughts on your experience. Tbh, I wouldn’t care too much about reactions to more jubilee videos. However, an interview with someone like obesetobeast may be interesting. Regarding the shame thing that some folks such as Myron and, to an extent, Greg seem too advocate for - I honestly find it perplexing. I can’t imagine that anyone would find shame more motivating than an emotion such as love. I strongly feel that people should not be driven to go to the gym due to shame or self-hate, they should go to the gym or workout because they found something they love - and doing things you love is an act of self-love. I do think that every individual person can find some form of exercise that they enjoy - the challenge is finding what that form of exercise is. It’s the same thing with food. I imagine many folks would say they hate food if the only thing they are introduced to is whatever is presented to them at the school cafeteria. However, for many folks - at least in the US - peoples’ first and sometimes only context for exercise is whatever their gym teacher told them to do.
@alexrushing90107 ай бұрын
Disagree that people get into exercise because they love it. Overall my 7 1/2 weeks of training has improved significantly with my mind, body, and, spirit, but your education has helped me get myself back on track with a weekly program that I feel confident and comfortable with getting myself back into gear. I think obesity has a lot to do with your environment. Me for example, majority of my family is obese. I was 200+ pounds by the time I was in the 5th grade. I grew up with bad eating habits that I viewed as normal because that’s how those around me ate. As I got older and started to realize that I was the “abnormal” one, I learned to change my eating habits and have a healthier lifestyle.

The moment I heard Myron mention giving more respect to "fit" people (4:35). I lost it, it was such a terrible argument, because by that definition he's saying that Gordon Ramsey was Lazy, Bill gates was lazy, Elon Musk was lazy, Jeff Bezos was lazy, albert einstein was lazy. The guy doesn't realise there are other forms of discipline, self-control etc etc that also makes a person valuable not just their physique. Some of the brightest minds we've ever had throughout history were not "fit", they may have been "average" or closer to obese or skinny. So really hearing that argument I felt like I was losing braincells. EDIT: You can be lazy in one discipline but be incredibly hard-working in others, it makes no sense to think that someone deserves more respect merely for their physique, as they can be hard-working in terms of fitness, but be incredibly lazy in terms of a plethora of other disciplines.
@steviejrr7 ай бұрын
You're beyond brain dead, this whole episode is about fitness. All the people you listed were Lazy in terms of fitness and gym. This has nothing to do with discipline with your 9-5 job this is all about fitness and physiques. I for example never do business with overweight people because if they can't take care of their body they aren't going to be very good business partners in the long run. You didn't lose brain cells after the argument, you had no brain cells to begin with.

@accountsequity55877 ай бұрын

@vircoromance26667 ай бұрын
@@JonathanCodes-ol1cm every single person is a regular person until they become super accomplished. How did they get there? By being a regular individual that kept working hard in their “craft”, and believing in themselves, and of course a stroke of luck, good supportive systems etc. You can’t just single out super accomplished people, regardless there are plenty of examples of people in the fields of science working their asses off. My point is to State that regardless of whether you’re physically fit or not, you also have value in the form of what you bring to the table. Being physically fit is an “extra”, the primary form of respect should be towards peoples discipline, and discipline isn’t as Black and White as “if you’re fit or not”.
@vircoromance26667 ай бұрын
@Harry-hh1is id give Them more respect too, but that wasn’t the argument was it from Myron? If myron Saw a slightly obese or skinny person with several advances inside a field like science, he would rather respect the person who just goes to the gym, rather than the person who has helped make scientific progress. Going to the gym staying disciplined and getting in shape, is something respect worthy for sure. But let’s not single out people’s accomplishments, and act like it’s the only thing that decides whether someone deserves respect or not. General discipline and hard work and dedication deserves respect. Also first impressions? So when did Myron explain he only meant from first impressions? Since the beginning he did not mention that, he just mentioned that he respects a fit person more so than a fat or skinny person in any context. Regardless he’d probably still respect the fit person more so than the person who shows up in a lab coat with a collegiate degree in their hand. Because from the wording I heard physical shape surely is the only thing that serves as a form of criteria to how you carry yourself and how disciplined you are generally. Edit: that’s atleast what I heard, feel free to find a time stamp where he mentions first impressions being the criteria, in which case I’ll gladly admit I’m wrong.

being physcially fit allows me to: 1. express myself w fashion choices that I wouldn't be able to wear comfortably otherwise 2. engage in activities/hobbies that require me to be in shape i.e sports and concerts 3. be more productive and higher functioning due to feeling better mentally and physically a lot of people can achieve the 3 things above without an intense training regimen or even gym at all, but regardless they can still live a happy and fulfilling life. A lot of image conscious "fit" people are in actuality insufferable and have an equally if not lower self-esteem compared to those who may be seen as out of shape so they cope by trying to make those who are different feel the same as them, as if they're implying "how can you even feel deserving of happiness, let alone experience it, when i look better than you and still suffer every day" working in the fitness industry is so eye-opening and makes you wonder if you’re really helping your clients to any extent...

@zxproplayersxz45602 ай бұрын
As someone who's been fat his entire life and been recently become slim fit with muscles. I can confidently say that most of Myron's take is quite true. Whether you like it or not, the world does not revolve around you. You can leave however you would like, however humans are naturally attached to socializing. First impressions,, Mindset, Health, are all derived for how you carry yourself. People have been kinder, and less prejudice, after I have lost weight. I never lost the fat before, because I never had the discipline for it. Going to the gym consistently is hard, even for people who are avid lifters. The key thing people are missing is that, with being fit, you do things when you do not want to do. The entire quote of "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times" is basically what Myron is. Too many people are far to sensitive and lenient of their own behavior. More people should take control of their life and live how they want to. I know far too many people that are overweight, but aren't able to break past the mentality of it, and therefore unable to stay consistent.

People like myron don't want to help people lose weight, they just want to get a one up on them. They feel better by separating themselves from a category of person that they perceive as less. He genuinely made the video unwatchable for me. I understand the opinions he has but the way he says it and belittles the other side is unacceptable. "Tough love" is a thing but when you're using it on someone whos already depressed, whos already tried, who's marked themselves as a failure; its going to make them worse (which is the opposite of what he "wants" from people). Shame doesn't work. support works, encouragement works, and camps definetly wouldn't be good. Its like taping someones mouth to make them lose weight (real experiment where they saw people immediately gained their weight back when it was removed). (as someone whos been 10% bf and unlocked oap and pistol squats and still depressed)
@lellan12887 ай бұрын
Exactly! Not only that but it basically makes it seem like health is an isolated event. He is explicitly removing all the things that make living a healthy lifestyle challenging with his “camps” idea. Health should be a consequence of your lifestyle not something you have in spite of it. Every facet of your life plays a role, your job, your family, your responsibilities, your environment. Removing all of that doesn’t help because once they go back, you’re way more likely to fall back into old habits. You have to shape your entire lifestyle and that requires patience, knowledge, and balance.

If you want to use Myron not changing his views and being a meanie as evidence that he’s unserious then apply that same metric back to Tevin who was the only person who directly attacked someone in that being Myron. Heck you may as well disqualify the entire left side. Once you do that now Tevin’s statements are not to be taken seriously with Tevin being unserious. Now Greg is unserious because he was also a meanie and said that the 6 foot 5 dude was overweight. Around the question whether "fat influencers encourage people to stay fat or care less about fitness", I should say it's all about what's being praised. The reason bodybuilders and those on Mr.Olympia stages are so influential on people is because they are being praised for their body and so others try to pursue that too. But I don't think that is the case with influencers who also happen to be fat. Let me give an example: Suppose I'm into standup comedy and the comedian whose work I praise also happens to be fat. Does that make me want to stay fat or gain weight? Obviously not. Because I praise his work, not his body. To me that just sounds like an insane presumption. So I think the argument that "the mere presence of obese people in society encourages obesity" is not very sound.
@scott84487 ай бұрын
So we’re just gonna forget about “muckbangs”, lizzo, the fat acceptance movement or basically any person saying it’s ok to be fat? Yes some fat content creators actually create content but the VAST majority centre their content around food and the acceptance of being fat nothing else. The fact there’s a fat acceptance movement proves they are being praised for being fat, the fact these fat people are getting modelling gigs proves it’s being praised, the fact we even have to have this discussion absolutely proves being fat is being praised or there would be no counterpoint it would simply be your fat, it’s killing you, stop it, get some help…. My honest opinion, being fat isn’t a choice, it’s a mental illness. I’ve dealt with my over weight issue my whole life, until I finally said I’m done back in 2022, and lost almost 50lbs and achieving an actual slim appearance. I’ve personally been addicted to food due to mental trauma of past experiences. It’s simply an addiction to food. Not knowing when to stop eating. An addiction to high calorie dense sweet and/or salty foods. People with a mental illness such as an addiction need help, and intense motivation and encouragement. But it all has to start within.

@tranquilator1109 Tyler and Eric had some similar points to Myron and Greg, they just made those points with more empathy and understanding. People are more likely to listen to those who are empathetic, therefore Tyler and Eric were MUCH more productive in their dialogue and people watching were definitely more likely to take points from them. I know I was much more willing to listen to them because of how kind they were. Empathy is a good thing

@@tranquilator1109 With any sort of critical thinking skills, you’d be able to understand the majority of Myron and Greg’s “points” are severely hypocritical and prejudicial. Would love to know which arguments from them you’d say were productive though.

I used to see this guy at the gym all the time when I started trying to get healthy. It's nice to see his work ethic pay off physically and in his social media goals. Happy for you!

It’s wild that Greg said you can’t / shouldn’t be famous, rich, or popular if you are overweight. Like ppl can’t get those things outside of having a small body. 😂this is wild
