Very nice collection, Wako. You have refined your collection so much in the last three to four years. It's interesting to see how your tastes have evolved. And it has been enjoyable learning about the various characteristics of knives along with you. Thank you for sharing this passion with all of us.

One of my hunting friends is a barbor. His knife was by far sharper than mine and I was scolded by him on my dull knife when I was taught how to hunt deer by him about 8 years ago. Since then I have been collecting and sharpening knives. I met with Bark River about 5 years ago and was amazed at its surprizing sharpness and easiness to maintain. Thanks.

I once experienced their denim micarta scales severely bent and detached from the tang on their front end. It was replaced to a new knife under their life time warranty. I experienced it just once and the other all wood scales haven't detached yet although some have shrunk decently. But the shrunk scales were replaced or the protruding tang and pins were ground down depending on the cases also under the warranty. Thanks.

must be Bark Rivers favourite and most appreciated customer. The pink one tho, it's a crime ;) A HD, large format photograph of all those knives in a light box would make most excellent screen saver, wallpaper, t shirt, fabric print even

I handled a knife in buffalo horn. It smells like burning finger nails (I supposed that's just a guess) when you remove material. It's not fun, but hard as rock. Thanks for sharing the video with us! I'm still saving up for my first Bark River knife. It takes a while with a young family to pay for. I hope I can decide by the time I am ready to buy! Right now I'm trying to decide between the Gunny and the Aurora. I've always wanted the Bravo 1, though.

Nice Collection..I believe you have the biggest collection of BR I've seen..I like the BR Bushcrafter in 3V..I'm starting a collection now.
@virtuovice9 жыл бұрын
The Bushcrafter has cool looks but ridiculous geometry so to say Scandi-convex. It is actually very low convex to make an extremely large edge angle like 40 degrees. Its factory edge is almost useless as a cutting tool unless we largely reprofile it. You had better avoid it from my experience. Thanks.

you should try knives of Alaska elk hunter D2 tool steel it holds an edge a lot longer than my bark river knives.
@nbmoosehunter11 жыл бұрын
I re-profiled my 3V Gunny to a much thinner geometry, much like you did Doctor (down to A2 geometry), and it worked exceptionally well this past deer season. I have a Gunny Hunter on the way and am curious as to whether it's geometry will be as you have been suggesting all of these months. If it is, it should be the "Wako Gunny".
@rustyshackleford179 жыл бұрын
Really impressive collection! I'll have to check out Bark River since I live fairly close to them. I've been needing an excuse to try 3v and that Fox River looks like a winner for me.

Now you have to resheath all these. Hopefully you remember which sheath went with which! Once you find your "ideal" few, I recommend selling off the collection so you can recoup your investment Wako! That is a ton of money there!

I solf off many of my Bravo1. I figured out clearly 3V Bravo1 is too heavy for hunting purpose, and the traction grooves/jimping is sharp and annoying. A2 Rampless in wood handle is mine. Thanks.

I am curious as well. KSF has so many stocks and it is difficult for me to chose one. But in other words I don't need to be in a hurry to pick one. Its grind looks lower than regular one. Its slight drop point and a bit shallower belly looks like making a better hunting Gunny though. Anyway the issue will be if it can take as small angle as A2 one. Thanks.

dose the a2 steel knives rusts?
@virtuovice10 жыл бұрын
Yes. If we keep the knife in the leather sheath over night after use not oiled, next morning we will see many rusty spots all over the A2 blade. On 3V it doesn't happen, and I sometimes leave the A2 blade in the sheath mistaking it as 3V. Thanks.

I wonder if there is someone else in the world that has so many Barkies (except Bark River themselves). Wonder too if they know your channel. For such customer loyalty, they could make some "Wako special Hunter" for Christmas or so. Wouldn't that be a nice present to reward you with all the money they made? You could make a review and field test. For sure a very cheap advertisement for them. Hum, hum...

6-7 grand collection ! in english pounds. .I love blades but that's a bit excessive.
@virtuovice11 жыл бұрын
I have ever heard Aurora has large edge angle on its belly to tip. For strength as a drilling tool, it can be true. Bravo1 has a hand filling handle and a thick blade as a survival tool. As a real cutting tool Gunny seems the nicest. Thanks.
