Clay is the best! My hubby thinks its such a cute idea, but he's scared to go buy books for me...I own so many! But, he's been picking a book a month off of my big TBR shelf for me to read, wrapping it, and giving it to me on the first of the month. Its been fun! I've read some great books this year thanks to him!

Demon Copperhead is incredible. The audio is also really great! I read it back to back with On the Savage Side by Tiffany McDaniel. That made for a really thought-provoking, if not heartbreaking, reading experience. Great job, Clay!

OMG! Regan! You have got to read Demon Copperhead. It is my third favorite novel ever. So a little backstory, I am originally from California but moved to southwest Virginia with my first husband in 1996. This is about the same time the opioid crisis started here and it’s about when this novel takes place. You do not have to read David Copperfield to read this book. I don’t want to say too much. I want to let the story speak for itself, but it is amazing. I’m also going to inbox you something that I know you will keep to yourself but I don’t want to put it here. It is an amazing , awesome thing that I recently found out!!!!!! I am so excited over this recently acquired information. I can’t even stand it in a good way.😀🎉🎉🥳 Happy reading! 📚📕📘

I read Demon Copperhead for a book club in July, and I loved it! One of the best books I've read this year. Then i read David Copperfield this month for a different book club. It's one of the few Dickens books I've tried that I've enjoyed. I knew Demon was based on David, but people were saying it wasn't a retelling. So I was surprised at how many parallels there were between the stories, and that basically a lot of the same people show up and similar things happen, although differently. For me, I'm glad I read Demon Copperhead first. I was glad I already knew Demon while reading David, and glad I went into Demon fresh.
