My Shiba Inu is in heat right now. She has ALL of the symptoms recognized in this video. She was a "chow hound" before starting. Now she is sooo disinterested in food, even chicken with rice and peas & carrots or cut green beans. My poor baby! Watching this was like watching her. Outstanding video. You covered it all! My pup is acting a bit off today, female, 7 months old, not spayed. She was lower energy at class than usual, but not lethargic. Then we got home and she peed a small amount at different parts of the yard like 4 times, when normally she doesn't. No indication that she's got anything bothering her, so i think she's just about to enter her heat. 3 days left til the male in our household gets neutered, so hopefully we're really early into proestrus

what our dog does is our dog will lick her privates a lot more she pretends her toys are her puppy's so if we touch them or throw her toys she picks up her toy and lays back down with them and licks and whines and she likes to hide in secret places like closets under beds stuff like that

My husky is finally going thru her first heat & I got her diapers because I don’t want her I king her blood, she tends to gag after licking herself clean when she rips her diaper off. But she’s doing much better keeping it on. Very relatable to this video tho, she’s more lazy, lost her appetite, more clingy, etc. how long do huskies usually have their heat cycle for? A month? And how many times in their lives do they have heats?

Yes, that's normal. I chose to wait until my girl is a year old before I spay her though. I've talked to husky owners who say that spaying early could cause issues with her urinary tract and their dogs have leaked pee when they got excited afterwards. I know that's not always the case but since she has no access to male dogs at the moment I've decided waiting is best for us.

Please visit a vet soon!! Because a period shouldn't be lasting a month.... It might be early stage of tumour.. I'm not sure.. But if the period continues for a month and so on, that's what you have to assume.. Just visit a vet soon!!
