Mate, Absolutely brilliant content. This is exactly what I wanted to see,and I am sure many others do also! Really like the fact you guys are honest an open with what you do. No bullshit 'get quick fit if you buy my programme' type stuff. Awesome job, looking forward too future episodes. Thank you 💪

Great Content Gents, it is always refreshing to see "Stress" as a key measure in any plan. i will be interested to see how this is measured in future videos. I heard MRV. I am guessing HRV is another indicator? Testing and adjusting as the week progresses based on the load/stress is an intelligent approach. Also, building gradual adaptation over time is also key like the 10% rule. I only heard the term Hybrid a while back and am fascinated. I understand endurance subject matter. I also know strength & conditioning but have always wondered how it is tied together without something snapping emotionally or physically. Keep it coming! Cheers.

Not one we over index on too much tbh... Some athletes like to use it to inform their own perceptions a little more. We firmly believe that a self-aware athlete, without ego, is the one that will be most realistic and honest with their training outputs. Thanks again for watching! Make sure to check out the rest of the series on this as we cover the salient points!

Excellent video gents, superb content. 2021 was a year of transition for me into the hybrid space from strength/bodybuilding. Did my first Olympic distance Tri in Chicago this past August, loved it. Got a Iron 70.3 in Michigan end of June 2022 and a full Iron in Florida November 2022. Was inspired by Kris Gethin Man of Iron video series. This structure could easily take me to the next level from just finishing. Spent most of my prep in zone 2 really base aerobic work given it was non existent! Ex pat living in the states btw 🇬🇧.
@ferguscrawley953 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Great to hear! But remember this structure was made for me, and doesn't necessarily have universal application - so make sure to approach with analysis and caution if you're going to mimic it directly! Thanks again for watching, make sure to check out the next three videos as well.

@@ferguscrawley95 thanks for the reply man, much appreciated. Looking forward to the other videos in the series. Yes, completely agree on the structure being finely tuned to yourself over time. I’m 100% at the beginning of the hybrid space and quite simply couldn’t handle the weekly intensity not to mention your amazing lead in with your power lifting at a very high level. My current goal at Ironman would be somewhere between 14-15 hours (based on current ability), I might purchase the template you have online but could still benefit from aerobic base building through next years races so may be a future addition 👍.

Same here! I noticed that your example week kind of alternates between lower and upper body days, not only for the strength days. How to go about this when the endurance goals are lower body focused only (primarily cycling with a bit of running in the mix)?

Great content and look forward to the next video as someone that is looking to transition from pure endurance training to hybrid training for Hyrox. I'm terms of building a week by week cycle do you do the full week then plan the next or are you adapting weeks in advance based on the performance of one workout or life event (fatigue, losing a tooth etc)
@ferguscrawley953 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ben! Appreciate it! Bit of both really my man, we set out a logical roadmap, and then adjust as we go, which is generally week by week!

What would your split be if you could only train once a day
@ferguscrawley953 жыл бұрын
Would be back to the drawing board and assess over time... But logical striating point would be: Monday: Intervals Tuesday: Full Body Wednesday: Tempo Run/Bike Intervals (alternating each week) Thursday: Swim Friday: Full Body: Saturday: Brick Sunday: Swim

Love to hear a coach named “pain”. Is that foreshadowing? I work swing shift. 12 hour days with 45 min drive. 3-4 days a week. Right now I cant train those days. Also, my feet hurt those days. What do you think? Options? Priorities?

Hello Fergus. Brilliant vBlog, it provides a great insight into how you manage your strength and cardio training. Plus I like how you adjust the weeks plan depending on what external events you experience as part of normal life. I particular like how you focus the weekly training through following an incremental process towards increasing your longterm goals . Lastly I'd to know how you manage your motivation and thinking during this type of training.🏊🏋🚴 Is Jonny your Mr motivator?🤼🕺
@ferguscrawley953 жыл бұрын
Thanks Keri, all my motivation comes from the desire to be better, and not miss out on the opportunities that come from constantly pushing forwards - as I have learned and experienced first hand how much can come from it!
