Hey guys, this video was filmed months ago and wasn't released until now. It's a bit morbid however I think it's good to talk about these topics such as health, longevity, and preventative measures we can take to live our best lives. I appreciate all the support from all of you and hopefully this video motivates you to take action and fight against the Horseman that you feel is coming for you. Let's continue to spread awareness, positivity, and increase our health span!

You're family is very lucky to have you with such a wise mindset at your age. Speaking for a 67 years old who just won his 1st battle with cancer. Thanks for all that you Share.

@@SzatStrength speaking of Truth you said a few things that I can confirm. You said don't wait until you're 50 or 60 to start paying attention to your health, or something to that effect. I am 67 years old, my blood pressure is higher than it should be, and I'm about 40 pounds heavier than I should be. I'm on blood pressure medicine which doesn't seem to do the job I need it to do, and losing weight has been a losing battle up until now. I can reduce my calories, I can work out hard, I can do cardio, and it barely moves. So listen to this guy, he knows what he's talkin about. Don't wait until you're an old coot to try to fix things. Do it now, it's only going to get harder.

I feel you, mate - good video. Big eye-openers for me were turning 30, having a kid and being a first responder. 30 - I realised I'm not getting younger. Having my kid - I am responsible for another life. First response - I am consistently confronted with the end of life. It still causes me anxiety to think about my own life ending, but at the end of the day, it's just another small chapter to provide in the lifetime of our space rock. And I just need to work hard to make that chapter important and happy for my kid, and my own well-being.

Loved this video. I've started some jogging a few times a week, trying to get my resting heart rate down a little bit and generally improve heart health! It's already a bit difficult to navigate lifting in amongst the running though... but I'll make it work

always good to get these types of thoughts off your chest I have learnt if you don't it causes anxiety to the extreme. been in the same boat. 32 years old now and for the longest time had the worst health anxiety the thing that has caused it for me was my son being born. I have had friends that have lost their dads at a time when they needed them the most and they weren't there and the effect it had on them and their lives always makes me think about leaving my son behind and how it would effect him and then that's where all the fear comes from for me. before him I was a completely different person. just funny how these life event's rewire you as a person and change your mentality

I read that book too, now it makes sense why you're doing all that low heart rate (zone 2) training :) I started doing it too but mostly because my LDL was higher than I wanted it to be. Good luck man, glad to see you're in on this stuff too

Man it's all about quality of life. I'm happy you're addressing this. No point in living till 80 if your last 40 years were dog dookie. We should all keep these things in mind and come to terms with.

I definitely started to watch what I ate and how i lived at 30. Spent too much of my younger years making and justifing terrible decisions that I have to make up for in my 30s. Def. in the heart health game here as well.

Hi Human Joe... I'm not afraid of dying but it does scare me not to have a decent quality of life... Not being able to provide and take care of my family and myself... Going back to training has given me what I need and Maybe a little more time to be able to fight and why not enjoy the little things in life... Cheer up and move forward. Nobody comes out of this game alive but why not play to win some rounds?

I think thats a great way to start but what worked for me to maintain that perspective is switching from "i do this to prevent that thing that is haunting me" to "i do this because thats how i show to myself affection, this is improtan because this is how i show myself and others tha we matter" so the motivation is love rather than fear/obligation, but thats just me.

I credit my old doctor, an immigrant from France, for putting this into perspective for me. About 8 years ago I was over 300 lbs, blood pressure through the roof, bad back, bad knees, rashes, nose problems, sleep apnea, you name it. Doctor says blood work shows the early signs of diabetes. A lot of doctors would just say "here's your insulin," but I asked her what to do and she says "lose weight." It was the wakeup call I needed, I lost over 100 lbs, now I strength train and have recently gotten into Strongman. I keep an eye on my blood work, the diabetes is gone, blood pressure is decent, sleep apnea defeated. At 42 I'm the healthiest and strongest I've ever been. Could I have just taken the pill? Maybe, and who knows what I would've looked like in my 60s, even if I did live that long. Yes I want to live long, but most importantly I want to live healthy. I squat like this at 42 so I can squat like this when I'm 82.

Well, it was originally just probably from something just going. No big cancers and 3 of 4 grandparents are still alive in their 90s. But then I got to 320lbs last August as a 6ft tall man. Good muscular build but way overweight. I was going to die of heart failure, for sure. I'd leave behind my daughter's and my wife. So, I said fuck that noise. As of today just 13mon since then, I am down almost 90lbs. No gimmicks. Caloric deficit. Lifting and cardio. I now am a "crazy" cyclist, I bike 15-20miles 6 days. Week. I've put over 1200mi on my new bike since late May. I've become a Zone 2 specialist. But I like some intervals, sometimes 🤣 My real specialty are hill climbs. I got nice tree trunk legs, that's where they shine! My health has never been better. My heart has an arrhythmia that I got from a bad fight with COVID but I'm not going down without a fight and I'll be damned if I don't fortify my heart and cardiovascular system after the mess I made. I'll be taken down by one of the 4, and probably heart, but not without a fight!
