The worst thing about being a brilliant liar is being able to catelogue all the lies still pertinent. Big lie? You'll remember it, be able to call it up on demand even when you don't need to continue the lie. Huge lie? You're a human, it'll be in the back of your mind at all times. Small lie? You might forget it, but the moment you have to continue the lie, it'll be there, you'll remember it. Tiny lie? White lie? You won't remember it because it'll slip out of short term memory and not get catalogued because it's not signifigant enough to genuinely bite you back any longer. Further lying advice, because why not. Fabulous liars think very quickly, or are very practiced. Some are both. 'No shit' you say. Thank you hypothetical dissenter, but it's the truth. To lie well you have to come up with a plausible, nuanced, believable lie off the top of your head, almost always while you're telling it. Thats the first part. Some quick thinkers can knock out good lies in fractions of a second, but a practiced liar will always be better, because they might be slower, but they'll think as they talk. A practiced liar also might use techniques to make their own lie seem utterly beliveable, by say admitting to something odd, embarassing, or something else that could maybe have happened. This can still enhance the lie because no one looks at an instance where someone admits something slightly off happened and sniffs it out as a lie, because people automatically belive, rightly or wrongly, a lie will always be spotless. It might be detailed, it might be neat, but if it the list of perfect actions and events told out in the lie has a small flaw people will automatically rule out it being a lie. In addition, a proven tactic no matter how good you are at lying is to make general statements and have the person you are lying to suggest details, where you can agree with them, ammend them, or substitute one you've just thought of for the one they suggested. Some practiced but slow-thinking liars build their lies around a shared framework each time, making something they normally have to do under stress a bit more manageable. If they do this, however, they have a chance of being caught if they lie to the same person many times, as the right person might be able to eventually sus out elements of the framework and become suspicious. In addition, there are quick and practiced liars. People who can think of a lie very quickly and utilize certain methods your average person wouldn't think of to make them more beliveable. Thie particular type is horrible to catch in the act. You need a lie detector, because they'll be able to blend the lie in expertly with what the person they're lying to knows about them, thinks about them, and thinks they know about them. That was the first piece of lying. The second piece is telling the lie, which is understandably difficult. Very few people have the fortitude to keep their voice level, continue with natural facial expressions while telling the lie, and do it all while cultivating the lie they are currently telling. Some people have 'tells', to show they are lying, signs they simply can't control. A man's hand might itch more than normal, a woman might find the need to adjust her jewlery for no apparent reason, and a confident person may, for no good reason, refuse eye contact in a suspicious manner. In some cases, you can catch a liar by their facial expression alone, or lack therof. Some people, when telling lies, concentrate so much on the lie and telling it correctly they forget to emote naturally with their face, or are too nervous to do so. This is a great help in someone always wearing one expression or another, as even gravely serious people have certain expressions which, while not terribly vairied, are distinct. In dour people however, this may not do much good. Since this didn't really have a starting point can it really have an end point either? Because that question applies to more than just this off-the-cuff PSA. It applies to lying in general. You'll never really register starting, telling a little lie to someone, somewhere, we've all done it, but once you get going, you might never be able to stop. You might be in too deep yourself, or you might just be too scared of the consequences of coming clean. Whatever happens, make your own mistakes.

Mostly cursing is used for exaggeration, not as the actual joke. At least the comedians I like who curse don’t use it lazily like that.
@davemiller60553 жыл бұрын
Those guys spew profanity as much as possible because they think they are being like Carlin or Pryor. Carlin and Pryor knew exactly what they were doing. it was intentional and fit the situation. Their cursing worked. The proof that they were beyond masters is that they could be just as funny without cursing one bit. And they could switch back and forth at will. The guys you are talking about can't do that.
