(The actor Jordan Fisher was amazing portraying him though) And poor Kitty she deserves more recognition in the film. ALSO anyone else annoyed with Lara Jean in the movie? I don’t remember her being this timid and insecure in the book? I just feel like this movie was really rushed. I had the exact same opinion about P.S. I Still Love You!!! I loved John in the book and was so excited for this to be his movie and it wasn’t so I was very disappointed. The whole point was to be conflicted like Laura Jean and we weren’t. Everyone was still team Peter.

I actually wasn't team Peter. I was shocked when she ended up not with John because the whole movie, expect for the date at the start, she and Peter were ALWAYS fighting. And they had nothing in common(Laura and Peter)

Plus I just felt the whole Gen’ secret in the book was anticlimactic like in a relationship Peter could’ve just said don’t tell anyone but this is why I’m there for her kinda thing. I loved John Ambrose. I loved the book. I loved Lara Jean's dress and I loved her moment with Gen in the treehouse. (But unfortunately that was all I liked. They really fricken ruined Peter.)

I was furious about PS I Still Love You! The book had my full on anti Peter and Team Ambrose but the movie barely gave him six scenes. Also our time with Stormy is precious and limited so I wish we’d gotten more of her and her wonderful snarkiness

I thought Jordan Fisher was the best version of John Ambrose that could’ve ever existed! I agree the film didn’t do the book as much justice as if could’ve, I missed the tag game! But also I get that the fans are there for PK and if they spent more time getting people to hop on John Amrbose’s team, it would’ve felt like a waste of time because she ultimately goes back to Peter. And already it was kinda like... wait why does she go back to Peter?😂

I completely agree about PS I still love you. I was rooting so much for this movie, and while I still enjoyed it as a movie and a cutesy rom-com, they did the book so dirty, especially in comparison to how good of an adaptation the first one was. The memory of running in the rain, the assassins game, the party (John Ambrose in the military uniform!!!), the scene in the car, the backstory of the necklace - they missed it all out. Peter is such more of a bad guy in the book, and LJ's anger is more justified. I hate the way she kissed John and then realised she loved Peter because in the book she SPECIFICALLY says that she wasn't thinking about Peter, that she liked John Ambrose for himself and truly liked both of them. I felt like reducing him to just basically an obstacle between Peter and Lara Jean was a massive disservice to all of them. I still loved the movie, the cast were brilliant as always - Jordan Fisher was perfect - and I loved bits like the scene between Gen and Lara Jean at the end, but I felt almost disappointed?? I think those who haven't read the books don't understand the point of John Ambrose, which is an immense shame cos he's a great character. Maybe cos the first movie blew up so much they weren't focusing on the readers as much?? That was soooo long 😅 but I've been waiting for this video cos as soon as I finished it I was like, I wonder what Christine thought 😂

Everyone says PSISLY had more book changes than TATB did but you're all forgetting how different the first movie really was to the book. They changed the iconic jumping-Peter scene. They changed their very first kiss to a spin-the-bottle kiss (which was a terrible change bc it made Gen's jealousy stupid and didn't show how Peter actually kinda liked her before). They took out the Christmas cookie bonanza and the whole Christmas party. They took out Josh liking her back and kissing her while she had a boyfriend. They made their reconciliation quicker and they had Peter say "I love you" WAY sooner than he did in the books which was pretty out of character. They lessened the magnitude of the hot tub video. They took out the conflict with Lara Jean's fear when Peter said he liked her. They made Kitty older and less spiteful and changed her motivation. They changed Peter's intentions with Gen. And they took out lots of cute character scenes like the Halloween scene (understandable bc they couldn't get the rights) and the estate sale. I'm not saying these all were bad changes, but there's a lottt of them and people forget about them bc their expectations for the sequel were so much higher.

John Ambrose stole my heart in the second book and that's why he was always my favorite character. They also completely missed the Assassins game that was so vital to the plot, and the cake walk at the end where Kitty defends Lara Jean. They did John dirty and at least in the end of the book he got some sort of explanation instead of being left in the snow. It was ok.

I was also upset at PS I love yous cinematography, I felt it was so different from the first and the director change was unwarranted. Also I don't underdtand where this film takes place because in february they are wearing tshirts and shorts and like in march it's snowing? I'm probably too mad at this teen movie than its worth...

I agree with your interpretation of "P.S. I Still Love You." I remember being SO mad at Peter during the second book. Not only did he know about the video and not tell LJ, but Gen did WAY worse stuff to LJ in the book. Do you guys remember the assembly? That meme would have been embarrassing for any girl, but especially for LJ, who is super innocent. Also in the books, Peter was hanging out and talking with Gen substantially more, and Peter was also the one to ask for the locket back. I feel like all of that was glossed over in the movie, which was disappointing. All of those reasons gave credence to LJ for breaking up with Peter. I watched the movie with my best friend, who has not read the books, and she actual got anger with LJ for spending time with John Ambrose and breaking up with Peter. Afterwards, I tried to explain how the movie differed from the book. But she is still Team Peter haha. Although there a lot of differences, I still think the movie was super cute. I loved Stormy, the family scenes that were included were great (I like the family dynamics), and even though it differed from the book -- the ending was adorable.

Agree with you on The Witcher. That timeline thing confused me too but it sorts itself out. Luckily I had a bit of background before going into it so I knew who Ciri was although I was confused at first. When you said "Is that guy dead?", you're talking about Moussack, right? Because that was when they showed that the timelines were different and he was somehow still alive with Geralt and Jaskier. Also yes, love Jaskier. He's adorable.

I loved Birds of Prey and thought it was super fun!! I just finished The Witcher and I watched it without any prior knowledge and was SO CONFUSED. It took me some time to catch on to the lore and when the timeline made itself known to be split I was genuinely so thrown. By the time I watched the last few episodes I became hooked and was super bummed there wasn't anymore to watch. The moment it ended I had to watch a timeline explained video because OMG SO CONFUSING. Can't wait for the next season though because I feel like it's gonna be great!!

John Ambrose is perfection!!!! I was very much Team John, even though I love Peter too. They left out soo much! John Ambrose always liked Lara Jean and she was always his first choice! I also wish that Stormie would have remained his grandmother in the film. And I love the sleepover at the nursing home in the film when they get snowed in! John Ambrose learned how to SWING DANCE for Lara Jean!!! Ugh. He’s just amazing, and definitely deserved more in this adaptation.

I haven't read the books but even I felt like the P.S I Still Love You could have been better. Hearing all these things from the books that they decided to leave out makes me want to read them. I also saw that they changed the director so that could have been a factor in why we didn't love it as much. My favourite scenes were John's piano confession, the awkward "sex" talk scene lol, the treehouse time capsule scene, and the laura jean and jen make up scene. But you are right that the whole film felt very team peter. I hope the third one is able to close the series off with a bang.

Finally watching the part in this vid about The Witcher, and I agree with you! Though I am looking forward to season 2 and really enjoy all the fantasy aspects and love HC, this first season is so choppy and all over the place. I had to start watching KZbin videos that reviewed each episode, like 2 episodes in. For some reason I do not like the Yennifer actress, or maybe it’s her storyline. Idk I can’t tell. There are elements about her I like but then I also feel like I don’t understand some of her decisions or feelings. But I think a lot of it has to do with all the time jumping and me not being invested in any character yet.

I'm team Peter overall, but I liked John Ambrose better in this movie because I didn't feel like things with Peter were getting solved, it was just like they got back together because he said some nice words but in the books there was so much more depth to them getting back together. John Ambrose was just perfect in this movie, and I agree he didn't get a lot of moments, but every moment he got was just perfect, and every moment she got with Peter was basically them fighting. It makes no sense for her choosing Peter at the end of the movie. Still I'm team Peter in the books because he won my heart, I think John Ambrose McLaren could be more of a friend to Lara Jean, because I just love Peter. But I don't really like Peter in that movie. (Sorry if I forgot something I read the books a while ago)

i agree with everything you said about PS I Love You. I read the book like 2 years ago and even i remember theres more plotlines than that. I liked the movie aesthetically but honestly i think people just watch it for the actors because the movie itself was... boring.... theres wasnt enough conflict in my opinion. I enjoyed it of course but in this movie lara jean is just this paranoid girl with no reason even though in the book she was given soo many of those reasons. plus i didnt see enough chemistry going on between LJ and JA. I think that they did a great job with the Witcher. At least for me a big part of the plot was trying to find out what the heck was going on ( I haven’t read the book) but I loved it. And I totally agree with u I love John ambrose, they didn’t do justice with him

Oh man I JUST got over my Geralt crushing - bae and I marathonned it over a rainy weekend and on Monday i literally couldn't stop thinking about G I felt so guilty 😂😂😂 (ALSO exactly how I imagined Rowan from TOG???) BUT glad I'm not the only one who was hella confused about the past/present thing I was like ????? MOST confusing part was how the bard had so much game?! Like wtf happened there?! I'd like to see a full wooing over a few episodes for science

Hi Christine! Could you maybe consider including timestamps in the description for these videos? I know it’s not a lot but it’s a struggle when you want to watch a specific topic and don’t know how far to skip ahead. It’s also confusing when they’re not in order in the description :/ maybe adding timestamps could be the next step to organize it a little bit! Keep up the good work 💪🏼

Sorry about that I usually do them in order in the description and I have done a lot of these videos with time stamps that come upat the start of the video but I'm on book deadline and had to rush to get this up 🖤 I'm sorry I made it difficult

i was so upset bc i remember being so ANGRY and FRUSTRATED with both lara jean AND peter when i was reading the book. BUT THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT MADE THE BOOK GOOD!!!!!! i just honestly wish there was more drama LOL. also, i freaking loved jordan fisher as john ambrose mcclaren, but i wanted him to have more scenes :(
