This is the best take on the famous Portra 400 look I have ever tried. I have about 8 different takes on Portra 400 both in lightroom and capture one, some of them costing me over $70. So much respect for releasing this for free! I tested it on bright daylight photos and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much!

I’ve concluded that Adobe’s raw engine produces a more attractive Fuji xtrans image than Capture One. Not that I don’t see the noise issue in Adobe, but the overall image looks much more attractive to me. .

Great preset, works great under many lighting conditions.. just watch out for extra worming effect from the heavy sharpening being applied by the preset.

You are awesome, and this is awesome sauce. I have been shooting on Fuji cameras for 4 years and have been on a fruitless quest to figure out how to get an out of camera look using the film simulations, but was never able to dial in a look I really liked. I've relied alot on the Portra and Fuji presets from Mastin Labs. Thank you for giving this to us for free, I would be willing to pay you for it!

This is amazing... finally a QUALITY preset! Works great with my really old Sony NEX6 Raw files. Thank you for providing this for free and not making the "before" images on the site look like absolute trash so the "after" shots look better. Thank you, Kyle! It looks surprisingly close to film, even in different lighting scenarios. Much more efficient then many “professional”, paid presets. I would like to point out that many Fuji users use Capture One Pro, so if you’ll ever decide to replicate that for it, many of them will be happy. Just saying 🙃

Kyle, the photos look great and I see that these can be converted for use with CaptureOne. Might you know if something similar could be done to work with Luminar? I skimmed all the prior comments but don't see that mentioned anywhere. Clearly I'm not using what most Fuji shooters use.

Classic chrome option isn’t needed. This comes with it’s own profile.

Kyle are you just shooting the base Classic Chrome with no edits, then applying the preset? If there are other in-camera adjustments you’re using I’d like to know those as well. Love the aesthetic of the presets and want to make sure I can get my fuji shots as similar to my Leica M3’s shots as possible to build a more rounded body of work.

Hey Cam, I am shooting base classic chrome, but it doesn't matter for these, as the RAW files come over as is, without any of those in camera settings applied.

Hey Cam, the fujixweekly website provides a detailed list of additional camera settings to apply in order to achieve a Portra 400 look straight out of camera fujixweekly.com/2018/05/30/my-fujifilm-x100f-kodak-portra-400-film-simulation-recipe/ It also has a bunch of other "recipes" if you're interested in trying those out.

Dude this is literally one of the best results I've seen so far. Unfortunately my main cameras are leicas these days, is it possible for you to make one for Leica DNG files? (I tried this with my leica files and it actually worked reasonably well)

Thanks for sharing, although it's a bummer these are for LR only. A lot of Fuji users run Capture One.... And if you're interested in a Portra look (and other looks for that matter) straight out of camera, check out fujixweekly for their recipes. I pretty rarely bother editing RAW files these days, but it's nice to have the backup occasionally.
