runs to good reads to look for engines of empire because my curiosity is peaked hahaha. LMAO also my vibe lately of getting easily distracted by things i find or was looking for haha 🤣 r,s.ford is also originally from Leeds ! the synopsis- The nation of Torwyn is run on the power of industry, and industry is run by the Guilds. Meg Cabot still rises to the occasion. I loved Enchanted to Meet You and am looking forwards to the sequel. She's recently (as in the last few years) done more Princess Diaries and Mediator, following Mia and Suze as adults. They're solid reads. A. G Howard is brilliant. I really enjoyed the Splintered series, and she's done a really good Phantom of the Opera retelling, a beautiful general fairy tale-like story, and a Goblin one that ended on what I felt like a cliffhanger last year. I'm eagerly awaiting to see what she does next. You will definitely enjoy Chronicles of Ixia, I have all nine books. It's such a good fantasy series.

Engines of Empires is worth putting things aside for and bringing to the top of your list. It was a hidden gem for me in my reads this year (and book 2). I can't wait for book 3.

Happy Holiday! Engines of Empire is so good I love the characters as much as a series like Game of Thrones or a brandon Sanderson series. It feels like a more modern Game of thrones with all the political stuff that happens but they have machines instead of dragons.

The Name of the Wind is my partners favorite book of all time, and they can't stand the wait for the 3rd book. And I must be a glutton for punishment because I just started reading the first book yesterday, knowing I won't get to finish the series for a while, but so far, it's great! I liked The Dry. I didn't like the second book quite as much, but mystery/thriller really isn't my genre. They do follow different cases. Jealous of TNotW arc. I really liked it, but the sequel's been gathering dust on my tbr for ages. Partly because of the lack of book 3 and partly because I've heard mixed things about it.

Pausing on the Bone Season thing: I also think it would have been better for her to just continue the series without going back and rewriting the first four books, so that we (as readers) can see how the author-and the series- has grown

Hey Becca, Merry Christmas, the Splintered book you have if you do like this book I do have paperback copies of other books from that author and in that series. That author also did a book called Rose Blood and it is a Phantom of the Opera retelling but my goodness the book is beautiful 🤩

If you enjoy the Study books though youll then have another 6 books to add onto your TBR at some point with the Glass books then following Study books. Fortunately they are fast reads though! 100% jealous that you might meet Maria V Snyder at RARE as she's one of my fave authors and the fact i could have met her and Kelley Armstrong there but missed out hurts my heart XD

I was your age once there are certain westerns that I do like that I didn’t like when I was younger, but I do now Although I still don’t like how characters of certain races are treated, particularly Lee black, and indigenous characters and women More, I’ve come to learn that a lot of queer people hid out west during the 19th century and the turn of the century and I find that quite intriguing even though mainstream society saw fit to sort of erase that part of history, Lee, this is always been sad fact that society at large would do so And I never bought into my fellow Americans infatuation with Guns and romanticizing, and fetishizing the legend of guns and the west
