I'm not gonna lie the Instagram life Looks awesome but I'm Very Much Sure that behind the Smiles and Happiness there's a lot of Problems. I never get Jealous but sometimes wish that i could do some of the Same things that Some of these Instagrammers do! But I'm blessed and I can't Complain! God is Good all the time! God Bless Becca 😍
@TJ-vv3vr Жыл бұрын
this is SO GOOD! I think we often base our effectiveness for the Kingdom based on how productive and effective we feel, rather than by our level of submission to God. I'd also like to add that even those living the "instagram-worthy" life can still struggle with feeling purposeless. I, for example, am spending my senior year as an exchange student in Indonesia. God has taught me so much throughout this time about Himself, myself, and the world. I believe He has also been using me to touch the hearts of all my Muslim friends and my Muslim host family here. I guess some people looking from the outside would say my life is "instagram-worthy," and full of adventure and passion for the Lord. And adventure and passion there truly is, which I am so thankful to God for. However, I also often struggle with thoughts that I'm not doing enough for the Lord, or that I am a worthless failure whose life is making no difference for the Kingdom. I know these are lies, and God always helps me combat them. But I think that my struggle is proof that no matter what your life looks like, you will always feel unworthy or purposeless if you base your worth of effectiveness of how you feel, or how your situation appears. Rather, it is only when we trust our effectiveness for the Kingdom to be based on our level of submission to God that we can have peace in our strivings. Moral of the story: A change in situations is not the remedy. An "Instagram-worthy" life won't make you feel more or less effective for the Kingdom unless it's accompanied by submission and obedience. Similarly, where there is this submission and obedience, we can make a HUGE impact for God, even if it doesn't seem "instagram-worthy."

Ok I have a couple things I want to tell you. 1. You look pretty even without makeup 2. I love the music you put at the beginning 3. I know all the music artists you mentioned (not personally lol) and I've seen some of them in concert. 4. I was just about to start sewing when I saw this notification! 5. I love the message and I totally agree that social media has made it very easy for your life to look perfect and beter that anyone else's. But you don't have to be perfect you just have to be you and if nobody likes you for you, did they really like you in the first place? 6. I never thought about the Bible like the way you described it. It only says the best part of their life not every boring thing they did. And it took a long time before God used them. And He can use anyone no matter how old they are or how boring their life may be. 7. Thank you Becca! Have a good rest of the day! If you actually read this whole thing lol!

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (oftenly misnamed Mormons) and you are a huge example in my life, I am so glad to see a true follower of Christ sharing their faith and giving advice to others. And woah I really needed this video in my life. Thanks so much for all this wisdom, I think hearing this right now is God answering my prayers. I’ve been really feeling like I haven’t been doing enough for God and like all my days are the exact same routine.

I watched this video a couple weeks ago and thought it was good. As I went on with my life, I kept coming back to this video as I felt bogged down by the mundane, everyday things. So here I am again, to refresh and remind myself that God works in the everyday, not just in the conferences, mission trips, etc. Thank you, Becca for sharing this. It has meant a lot to me and helped me through those mundane weeks when I feel that God is no longer working.

Great video. we all play our role/part. We're all equal just some are behind the scenes and some in the limelight. Still need everyone to pitch in to make "it" work. We are the church and we are the body of Christ. God loves us all, we are all so important. God uses everyone differently. Just live for God guys :).

The way you tell us everything in these videos never ceases to make me laugh. But this message is so needed right now! I completely agree! The place you do the most for God are those where you're doing everything to His glory. Not whether you're being a missionary, not whether your an evangelist, but if you're doing everything for His glory and at your very best. Hallelujah!

There is a saying that well behaved women seldom make history, trusting God even in 'mundane' actions that all our history is based on. When I think of why we should live even in 'ordinary' Christian lives, we live so that on the last day we would be told "Well done, good and faithful servant" and to share that with all the brothers and sisters that brought you there, and the ones that are there because of God's actions through you. Love you Bex. YBIC

I think you hit upon a really important point- Instagram and other forms of social media have made it too easy to show the best parts of our life off while allowing us to hide the more mundane parts. And even though most of us know that, it can cause us to feel like we’re not doing enough and cause an endless cycle of worry and comparison. But even when I was working a mundane retail job, I learned that just a friendly bit of small talk can make a difference in someone’s day, and that you can spread joy/happiness wherever you are. Anyway sorry for such a long comment- great video as always :)

Thank you for these encouraging words, Becca! So good for those of us who are chronically ill to hear. I have been very unwell for the past almost 6 years, unable to go out much or do normal things. It’s not only painful, but mundane too. I can give testimony though, to God using all things for His glory. The last year, He has enabled me to start writing songs of worship, new hymns, and Psalms set to music. I have, by His grace, written over 110 songs, and have been able to share some with my local church and am starting to share them on KZbin. Getting feedback that people are encouraged and strengthened through my songs gives me confirmation that God can indeed use anyone and it is a privilege to serve in whatever position He places us in.☺️ Thank you for being faithful in the position He has given you, for speaking His truth and seeking to inspire and encourage others. You are a blessing for sure!❤️ (Oh, and I have been listening to your videos for a while now, but this is my first time commenting!😊)

Hey Becca. Thank you so much for this video, it's exactly what God needed to tell me today. I've been feeling so useless and almost annoyed with God because it's like... I wanna be OUT THERE doing "real" ministry work etc etc - but I've just realised that through studying, God is bringing people across my path who're desperately need love, a kind voice, an uplifting conversation... And he can use me to do that. Doing assignments can feel SO pointless in the moment but when I think about the lives God has brought me across, and the children I may teach one day, I begin to see that this is not all for nothing. Worshipping Jesus in and through the mundane. Amen. Thank you SO so much Becca ❤🌺🌹🐱😊

Look at you girl! Ministering while sewing a pair of jeans. Love it!! God can certainly use the most unexpected people at the most unexpected times. To covet someone else's life, is not to look inward to Christ, but to look outward to the fleshly desires that take us away from God. I often wonder where peoples heart lies, when they are in the middle of a mission, or volunteer work and decide to shoot a photo for instagram. I volunteer at a homeless shelter and it never once occurred to me to upload a photo of me helping them, because I know that Gods eyes are watching and he is pleased. I don't need that attention from strangers scrolling through their phone.

Such a cool video, Becca..... I worry so much that my life isn't good enough... I read a lot and have a vivid imagination, so I often think that life shall contain miracles, magic, heroism, sacrifice, higher goal, the significant things..... I always play scenarios of myself saving many people, helping the environment, becoming a part of the government and changing it... In reality, I'm extremely shy and kind of a loser. But many of the Bible characters (like David or Joseph) were also losers in the beginning. And all those boring Mondays bring you to a greater life purpose. That money you gave to a pauper in the street? That friend you helped with studying? That hobby you spent some hours doing and can help you in the future? That boring job you´re doing? That hour you spent helping your mum with chores? IT´S ALL SIGNIFICANT. Heard of the butterfly effect? It´s the same. You don´t need to be a missionaire in Africa, for example, to be a real christian. If you do the little things with great love, you don´t need to do "great" things. And whatever is your purpose, it´s important, Quietly looking after your family is not less important than being an activist. And what is YOUR purpose? Or talent? Mine is speech. I like writing and talking and it will be useful in the future, I know it! May God bless you all, sweeties!

I have thought about so much! Two other people I think about when I get discouraged are Moses who spent 40 years 😯 in the wilderness and also Esther. Esther spent the first part of her life in a very normal way I'm sure. Once she became queen (which lasted the rest of her life) there are only two big things we are told about which are her telling the king about the plot for his life and telling the king about the law to kill the Jews. Those were two huge deals... but it really didnt take all that long in her life. The rest of her life was spent in a mundane routine I'm sure. And while I'm sure she was thankful for her position as queen, I personally cant see Esther as the type of person who would have really enjoyed the luxury long term. I bet there were a lot of days she just wanted out. Anyway. Theres my two cents.
