What's funny is I actually have a MLP vinyl figure. It's RainbowDash. She was my favorite because she's a cool tomboy. I was in the fandom for a year and then I realized things were being taken too far and I just kinda left. I enjoyed the show, just because of nostalgia and the older movies (the original MLP) weren't good so I was happy to see improvement. Never again will I join the fandom. Have you seen the same porn that sickos from other fans have made in other fandoms? The sexual deviants are a part of every fandom and they are by no means a mainstream part of the fandom. Take the Star Trek fandom. Do you know how much Star Trek porn there is? I'll bet if you search you can buy Kirk and Spock blow up dolls. Every fandom has it's underbelly and the members of that underbelly tend to be the exception, not the rule. If you know "Rule 34", you would understand. If it exists, people will make a porn of it. The anime fandom has a huge porn hub associated with it. That doesn't mean that the entire anime fandom is porn obsessed for example. If you go looking for it, you will find these elements in any of these fandoms. It's only a small percentage of the fandom and a lot of trolls who make the porn or talk about masturbating to that crap. I've seen a LOT of fandoms and I can verify that there is NO difference between these fandoms at all. The difference is the show that the fandom is based on.

You'd be surprised. I've seen worse stuff from the Anime fandom than I've ever seen from the bronies. I'm an animation collector. I've been collecting animation (cells, memorabelia and such) for over 30 years. I've seen a LOT of fandoms and been to a LOT of conventions. That's how I know so much about the brony fandom. I know animation. I know the fandoms. This is how I know about the brony fandom. When it took off, I followed it because it became a pop culture thing and that's what I archive. So I've followed this fandom like I have all the others. The stuff you're talking about counts for only 1% of the art or fanfiction that is produced by that fandom. The makeup of that fandom is mostly straight males. A good many of them are married and with kids of their own. Most of the fandom view the content that you're talking about with disgust. This is pretty much the same with most animation fandoms. I went to 2 different Bronycons and I saw no pornography and no lewd behavior or art. What I do see on the net is a lot of trolls making up stories about bronies masturbating to ponies and such like that famous Howard Stern piece where he sent one of his minions to a Bronycon to ask people if they wanted to do ponies or something. What this fandom is is a bunch of normal people who enjoy an animated show just like any other bunch of people who enjoy any other animated show who have a fandom.
