Now I know how to wash my hair without unraveling my mini twists! I was always afraid to try because I didn't want my hair to look too matted and fuzzy so they would be unwearable after I shampoo, or to break off due to locking when I finally try to remove them . I will be shampooing my hair in these mini twists tomorrow, following your demo, to see if my experience is similar to yours. This video was very helpful. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so glad you like it. Mini twists eventually start loc'ing up over time whether you wash it or not but washing with the right technique can help to slow down the process. I hope you find this technique helpful.❤️❤️❤️

@@LilianOkibe Thanks for the tip on mini twists. Maybe I'll start loose braiding like you instead to lessen the chances of loc'ing.

I did mine yesterday miss, i love them and now you just show me how to care for it. Here's my questions 1: can it be turned into a permanent locs if yes, how many weeks can i start seeing results? 2: can i use just sliced onions along with the grated ginger then cook for the same minutes you cooked yours and then strain to spray on the locs before rinsing them off since getting aloe vera plants is kinda hard here where i am? 4: if it can get me into a permanent locs, how many weeks after it's been locked do you advise i do a retwist and how do go about its retwist i mean the products to apply as well as telling me on how to go about the retwist? Thanks for your quick response my love.
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can become permanent, I started my mum's locs this way. She is one year loc'd now and her hair is fully loc'd (I think it took about 3 or 4 months before it became fully loc'd). The good thing about this is that your hair transitions into permanent locs without you knowing because your hair starts to look like locs from day 1. Yes you can use onions and ginger. I advise to retwist once every 1 to 3 months just to give your locs enough time to thicken out. Retwisting more than once a month would thin out your locs. There are loc retwisting clips you can buy so you just twirl your loc down to the roots and hold with the clip until it dries. All you need for retwisting is water but you can add an oil if you want. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

What about titling it ginger and alovera deep conditioner, so if anyone types in ginger or alovera on KZbin, it would come out automatically. With that title, it would be difficult if someone is looking for that mixture, because you’ve got so many wash days videos

I started this method and love it !! Do you think it’s safe to allow my hair to loc officially this way?
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. I started my mum's locs this way and just a few months in, her hair is fully loc'd. If you want your hair to loc faster, you should water and wash it regularly. Also, stick to using light products and oils. I should also state that if you leave your hair unattended to, this method may make your resulting locs not looks as cylindrical as if you start with two strand twists. If you want your locs to look cylindrical, you should twirl the hair around your fingers (what I do after I braid in this video) or palm roll from time to time. In general, this method is the fastest way to semi freeform because your hair starts to look like locs on day one or day two and as it gets older, it just tightens and matures. ❤️❤️❤️
