Very interesting take on one of my favorite games. There's so much game in the box (and I'm including Lost Legend and Tezla) that I've never felt the need to changing it. But, like you said, one mark of a great design is just how flexible it really is!

Thank you so much for the comment and suggestion. I tried to give a flavor for how I play in this video but I can't see myself doing an entire playthrough. Just too long to film for me. I may be doing another MK video again, however, demonstrating yet other different player-made add-ons.

Great getting your thoughts on this solo staple. Not a month passes that I don't think about adding this to my collection and playing it; but then I pass on it and add some other burgeoning item to my CSI purchase order and the process starts again. :) That being said, I do find myself agreeing with a number of your opinions on KZbin as well as BGG, so _MK_ just worked it's way up my list another notch. Thanks again for your vids; they're always welcomed!

The game has a lot of barriers to starting play--namely really lengthy rules and a huge footprint and a play time for a regular game of 2-3 hours I'd say. I'd recommend watching some of the playthrough videos that exist before buying. If you like what you see with those detailed videos, it's a good bet you'll like the game. My vid just gives a flavor for it but nowhere near anything comprehensive.

Hey, great video, and your Mage Knight is pretty close to my Mage Knight. You mentioned starting with 5 gold, but how or when do you earn additional gold to buy some of those expensive mounts? I watched this video numerous times and I don't recall that being mentioned. -Thanks!

There are many files on boardgamegeek.com under the game page for this game. What I'm using is a compilation of various user's uploads. You can find files there with names such as 'quest cards', etc. There are a bunch of different contributions for similar content.

Which ones do you use, though, in particular? I really liked the intent of the way you set up your play. I would like to defer to your expertise as to which user uploads you have found you like using.

Mitch Goodwin If you go to the files section of the game page on BGG you will find the “quest cards by pabula”. I can’t recall which file the item cards were but they were also a file in that section.
