Happy Vlogmas! Today, we are going to make my mom's Farmers Cheese Pierogi Recipe. This recipe is more than 100 years old since my mom made this recipe and her mom made this recipe. This is the traditional way to make cheese pierogi. There is no cheddar cheese, or american cheese, or anything like that. It's only farmer's cheese plus other ingredients.

My grandma taught me how to make these. She always made them when company came to visit from out of town. Her recipe, was a filling with mashed potatoes, onions, and a cheese like the farmers cheese you show here. I lost her recipe years ago so I am thankful for your video!

Mmmm mm mmmmm! Love a good pierogi, and this looks so yummy! I haven't seen a recipe before, so this was a real treat, Grandma and Grandpa. Truly a labor of love, making any of these stuffed favorites from around the world (pierogies, ravioli, stuffed shells, dumplings, empanadas, tamales, etc.) Guess what I ordered from ShopRite today? Chruscikì! You've inspired me! Saw them in the circular and realized that, despite growing up in an area where many Polish immigrants had settled, I'd never tried them, and it was long overdue. They're delicious!

My grandparents came from Ukraine in 1929 and my grandmother made these with potatoes and cheese and for Christmas sauerkraut

Wow! Grandpa and Grandma I use farmers cheese in mine but I mix it in with the potatoes. However, I can’t find farmers cheese like yours, I know it, but can never find it. The only kind I can get is sliced at the deli. It’s just not the same. I wish I could get it like yours because that looks just like the farmers cheese my grandmother used and I bet they are delicious with just that cheese in them. I hope eventually I could find it because I would love to make them just like that. They look and sound like they are absolutely delicious! Great job! …. Blessings….. Brian

Thanks so much for sharing this with us!! Here in Canada, the Polish pierogi is simply referred to as "perogy." Ukrainian words either "pyrohy" or "varenyky" are also used. Basically all the same thing and using all kinds of fillings.
