My Grandma used to make Custard Slip Pie. She would totally pre bake and cool her pie crust. She would bake the custard like you did, in a glass pie pan and cool it. Then, the custard would be slipped into the pie shell. She said it kept the crust crispy, as it was served right away.🎉

Thank you for the recipe Grandma. Love the music to. Never made real custard before. Coconut macaroons and tarts yes, as they were recipes my mother used to make. For custard, she used to use Bird's custard powder.

I loved the 1940's big band music, which I thought at first was an actual tune from the past. So I was surprised and delighted when I heard the funny, instructive lyrics. Do you have relatives and/or friends who sing and have a band? The singing and playing were excellent and in the authentic big band style. Anyhow, the coconut custard recipe is wonderful!
