That is a beautiful area your Mom's tiny house is in. I can see why she moved for the privacy and the homes aren't too close together (although I do like your location too.) I am 69 years old and living in a carpeted apt. that I pay way to much for. I am happy for you and your mom living so close and can see each other often. Keep up the videos, it is nice to watch how people live happily in Tiny Homes. I want one so badly and the down payment is all that is stopping me!

I love that you let us meet your mom and to see where she lives and what she has done with her tiny home. It is beautiful land there! Also, kudos to the generous lady who sent you a box of treats and flax oil for Cody. I have a little French bull dog named Tiggy and she has had issues with dry skin. I have her on the oil and Purina Pro Plan with organic salmon and cod with pre and pro biotics. Within a month she has no more scratching. I hope you get good results for your pup! He is worth it and he has a good mom so that is a blessing. Sending you and Cody love from Western Massachusetts. 💕💜

Your mom seems happy with her home. I do like the color with the red roof. Those stairs are scary. I hope she doesn't have to use them very often since she has storage up in the loft area. Too bad Verizon doesn't reach there, because it is a nice area with fewer homes and plenty of room for Cody. Maybe someday that will change. Your home is very cute also. I'm falling in love with these tiny homes. But I think it would be a challenge with myself, my husband and 4 cats. Somedays, this house doesn't seem big enough for all of us. Yeah, it's a little out there where my mom is, but that's nice there if retired and don't have to worry about driving to work.

I think that the "community at ITH has been hyped up too much. I would not pay the outrageous "key money" to live there. I don't think that everyone gets along in the ITH communities. I think it is an illusion created to sell more lots and then raise prices on lots. Look at how few ITH residents turned out for the silly picnic. Probably, less that 20 people in a community of over 200 people. Not a great turn-out.

I always wondered why they didn’t hire an architect right away to solve this problem. I have steps in my ITH 10x20 that are a bit more narrow than conventional steps but have the same 7" risers. They go straight up into the loft at a reasonable grade so I'm not too worried about them as I age.

Thanks for the vd and visit with your Mom and Gracie. I think the way to find freedom in a tiny house is to own the land your home is on. Not into that”key money “ foolishness. I love watching their videos, but don’t trust one word coming out of their mouths. I would maybe buy and Incredibox, but would make sure I had it inspected by someone I trusted. That Incredibox is a very straightforward simple design. Easy enough to build yourself with a stamped blueprint . Most states require licensed architects to put a stamp on a blueprint so you can build.

No kidding! You folks are paying through the nose with those lot rents! I would do that with your mom and sister if they were interested. There is lots of land available in NC and or TN land is affordable. You just have to make sure you do your “due diligence “ and hire a real estate attorney. If I could stand to live in either one of those two states, we would have bought land already, but I’m a true New Englander. We will be heading to New Hampshire or Maine. Good luck to you! Speaks volumes about the integrity of a builder who will not fix their mistake(s). Her home is very cozy and wow, what a location! When I get my TH I'd love to live in a place that resembles this, but still be connected to the world, ala, proper wifi. It'd be great to see it again once she gets her shed and is able to store some of the items elsewhere. Are you able to share what Ms. Lola charges for a lot? The dogs are so precious and that's a great deck! "Little Indiana car" 😂

It's nice that your Mom is still close to you. I have a question though - what happened about your Mom's staircase ? I didn't quite understand that... Randy should be taking better care of this and also for you when you didn't get the door you wanted ? I love ITH but I sometimes think they could follow thru' a little better instead of forging ahead with their new money-making schemes.. ..but that's just my opinion - I've been watching them for ages. If the contractors Aaron her original plan why didn't they make that good? Or why did she accept something that she did not ordered? Why was these contractors at fault was allowed to get by with that! An answer to makes a lot of difference in a small space. Now at her age she cannot use her Loft and cannot use it safely. That's just awful these people needs to be exploited and made responsible for their era.. that's why attorneys are useful . Why did she not get an attorney?

They went to court and didn't win. I imagine they were paid before the job was complete? I don't know, but I do know I would find another lawyer and sue again. If anyone is hurt or takes a deadly fall, they should be sued for negligence and wrongful death. As it is now, if they search out lawyers, maybe pro Bono, they should sue for all the money her mom paid them, every penny, key money, tiny house.

Agreed. Technically, no one won because the judge dismissed without prejudice which, I think, was his way of giving them a way and time to gather more actual proof. I think they need to find a civil attorney. They collect only if they win usually 30%. Given they are not the first to have troubles with ITH, I too agree they refile with experienced attorney and in the complaint include both houses (maybe only mom can be Plaintiff since she was the buyer), and everything little to major problem that goes against the contract etc. The attorney will find others unsatisfied, and can subpoena their records plus depose as many employees he needs including Melissa as she lived in the second house. Maybe they'll qualify for the expenses mom incurred having to move to apartment because at her age, there's many problems that could injure her. Sometimes pain and suffering is allowed too which Melissa underwent while at ITH. A lawyer can find and access so much. I really hope they go for it even if they have to look outside the community for the attorney.

Was this an ITH build and they just didn't build the stairs?? Your home with the normal height stairs seem very manageable and your Mom would then have a living room like yours. I thought about it before, but it's farther to drive to work in Sevierville, and my Verizon doesn't work. My mom is retired so she doesn't worry about where she moves or how far she is from things lol. I think she has cricket. For her phone service and she has internet, I think she got the mobile hot spot from cricket too.

Seems like ITH aren't good at fulfulling details of their clients' custom orders. Oh well - probably too small of an issue to fudge about (it depends on the person).
