There are insanely good stunt people in this movie (along with tremendously talented actors). Zoe Bell who did the stunts for Uma Thurman is deserving of all the accolades.

Kill Bill is not just my #1 favorite Quentin Tarantino film, it's one of my top 3 favorite movies of all-time. Quentin Tarantino really had a love for classic HK martial arts film, westerns and samurai movies as you said. This is the film that really had me fall in love with Tarantino filmmaking along with Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds which are in my top 3 of his work. The yellow outfit is similar to Bruce Lee's in the film Game of Death. As a martial arts and sword fighting lover, this film was truly made for me.

There are 2 Martial Arts legends in this movie. The Sushi Chef was Master Samurai Swordsman Sonny Chiba and the Crazy 88 Leader Johnnie Mo is Gordon Lui. Gordon appears in Part 2 in a different but iconic Martial Arts character. I don't live too far from Uma Thurman; home in Upstate NY and have run into her twice,, She said that she did as many stunts as they would let her. The most dangerous stunts were done by Zoe Bell (Xena's stuntwoman). She said that was constantly bruised and sore from the stunts they did let her do. She said that Gordon Liu worked with her and was a great teacher. She is a very nice lady, even more beautiful in person and very tall.

Ah, a classic! 11:37 The cartoon was an homage to anime. Tarantino said the idea and concept for adding a cartoon to show violence were inspired by an Indian Tamil language film(Nope not B'wood, it's Kollywood) called "Aalavandhan". Was made by one of the Indian legendary actors Kamal Hassan. He made many sorts of low-budget films that pushed boundaries in hush subjects and gave hope to spending more financially on artistic, realistic, and taboo topics films.

I seem to remember some talk at the time that there would be a movie in 15 years or so where Vernita's grown-up daughter WOULD come for her revenge on The Bride (funny to think that 15 years seemed like such a long time to wait, when it's actually been about 20 years now)- I don't think that'll ever come to fruition, but it sure would be cool to see! Random fact about o'ren ishii is the reason she dose not have a hand guard on her samurai sword. 8:40 yeah, not too long ago - maybe a few years at most - there was an article someone posted on Facebook about a coma patient getting knocked up at some clinic or healthcare center. It wasn't a large hospital, so it wasn't a huge staff like you would normally expect. So the clinic was making all the male staff take paternity tests. Now, I'm not sure what the results were... but one of the comments on the Facebook post really angered me. Something to the effect of "if I worked there I would refuse," something about "they can't prove it was anyone there, they have no probable cause" and this love gem "I think they (the coma patient and her significant other, and the medical center) should just accept this as a miracle of God, like the Virgin Mary with Jesus." I honestly don't know what's worse... the perpetrator, or the sicko trying to excuse it using the Immaculate Conception of Christ.

When I hear the kill target sound and everything goes red all I can think of is the old tv show Ironside where I first heard it as the opening bars of the shows theme song by Quincy Jones.😂 Uma's stuntwoman, Zoe Bell, was also the stuntwoman for Lucy Lawless on Xena: Warrior Princess.

22:02 the jumpsuit is an homage to the suit worn by Bruce Lee in his last film, Game of Death. 23:10 the dramatic blood spray is taken from a variety of Samurai films from earlier Japanese films. at some point you might checkout the Lone Wolf and Cub films, or the American hybrid, Shogun Assassin, which spliced some of the episodes together and gave it an English dub.

@deimos144 Жыл бұрын
As for the sword and how she could take it on the plane I think it’s bc in Japan traditionally made katana are considered works of art, and not weapons. They are very strict regarding what can be called true Japanese katana. They have to be made traditionally in Japan, and Okinawa (where the swordsmith was) is a Japanese Island south of Japan. Bc a plane from Okinawa to Hokkaido( or whichever island this takes place) would be internal, so I think they’d allow her to carry it as a carry on, I don’t think anybody involved would care to lose an art piece. It’d be like losing the Mona Lisa in your suitcase
