I'm somewhat annoyed about the running water in the background. I'm a Londoner now living in Germany, and I know that Germans would be horrified by this; not only because we have to pay for water here, but also because of environmental respect. I use the Timeless brand Vitamin C E Ferulic acid, and they advise to use it at night-not day-as it oxidises in sunlight. This makes more sense to me. Is issue safe to AHAs in sunlight, even with a sunscreen on top? When would you apply azelaic acid, and how often? I'd like to treat age spots on my temple. I've noticed this is mainly only on my left temple, perhaps because of a left-hand drive car. I do use a bit more sunscreen in this area now.

Why do you choose EltaMD over something like La Roche Posay? I thought LRP anthelios XL had better UVA protection than EltaMD products. Can you please share why you prefer the EltaMD product? I did an experiment with UV detection beads. I used EltaMD UV Clear, LRP Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid, and Blue Lizard Face. I used 1/8 teaspoon of sunscreen applied over a ziplock bag for all three sunscreens. Inside, I put the same number of beads for each individual bag. Then, I put it out in the sun for 10 minutes right next to each other. I also had a control to compare the colors to one with NO sunscreen at all. All but the Anthelios the beads turned color when exposed to UV light. The Anthelios remained white! That proves to me that the Anthelios is far superior.
@mayaa.14055 жыл бұрын
Have you ever done a similar experiment with Bioderma sunscreens? Apparently, the PPD of Bioderma Photomax SPF 50 Lait is 42, which I believe is the same as Anthelios. I am curious to know which would be superior. Also, did you test the European formulation of Anthelios or the American one?

I like that you emphasise to give the layers enough time to sink on. That is to important to get a smooth surface and a properly protecting sunscreen layer :). I have many friends who want all the nice benefits from using AHAs, retinoids, but they are not willing to use good and sufficient amount of sunscreen nor do they let the layers sink in, although the daily protection is the most important anti-aging step. I appreciate these kind of step by step guidance videos, especially with mentioning the time periods to wait between steps, which products are not suited for around the eyes as you mentioned for the AHAs and why - LOVE it :) ♡ Would love to see such kind of video for your current night routine and how you can incorporate self tanner in your night routine. What is your opinion about sun screens in a liquid oil-based formula as there are many new of these sunscreens emerging? Do you think they are save in terms of adhering properly on the skin and not smudging around? TIA :)

I thought acids first then Vit C - I can't remember where I got that idea, maybe from the Paula's Choice website - as the BHA or AHAs helped the Vit C to absorb properly. Is this incorrect??
@wavyhairskincare31016 жыл бұрын
Lisa Hayes I think it depends on the consistency of the AHA or BHA. Vitamin C serums in the for of ascorbic acid tend to be watery so you wouldn't want to put them over something thick like a cream or even a gel. It could hinder the absorption. However if you are using a liquid Aha or BHA it would be fine to use after. There is evidence that using a chemical exfoliant prior to Vit C will help absorption because it's removing the dead skin cells. However, another prospective would be that the first thing you put onto damp skin penetrates the deepest. So even using a toner leaves ingredients on you skin and can hinder some of the absorption of the Vit C. So it's really individual preference I think. Also if you use an exfoliant in the evening I think it would be ideal to use the Vit c first then the AHA or BHA.

It has come to Disney World with me twice in the heat of summer and I did not get so much as a tan-great stuff. If you decided to try it, keep in mind the consistency it’s very liquidity and it goes on shiny. It takes about 10 minutes to fully set but if you’re not putting makeup over it, it’s a non-issue. My skin is what I would call normal. It is neither dry or oily.
