Holy shit. I haven’t seen your face in years?(feels like it, time isn’t real). You got me thru some toughies back in your streamerboi days. You got me into being the “be a very laidback/nice rando” kind of gamer. Also started my obsession with Sewerperson and similar music, which I LOVE. The hair *chefs kiss*. Gonna have to check out this novel, homie. Glad to see ya creating again. 🫶🏼

Just finished City today as well. Loved it so much! First Murakami novel with a thoroughly well-rounded, full thematic arch-achieved ending in my view. Sometimes Murakami is "about the journey not the destination". With City the destination is there and its gorgeous. 👏

Love the video!Currently working on my MA with intentions of going straight into a PhD, so I am doing a lot of reading for classes and my research. I find it very challening to find time to read for leasure, but I may have to check some Haruki Murakami books out!

I’m reading my first Murakami right now: hard boiled wonderland. I have 22 pages left, and I happened to pick up the city and its uncertain walls before realizing they shared some concepts. Very exciting moving forward.

@@ProbablyGarrett No one told me hard boiled wonderland is a tragedy, I got so emotional out of nowhere those last few chapters.

So you are reading books now? There is always a passion beside Apex. 😁 If ots not just Murakami for you, but ither japanese authors I would propose Keigo Higashino. Right now i am very much into SciFi, but begore I had my fair share of crime/thriller books and Higashino was an absolute standout. Try "The Devotion of Suspect X". This novel will blow you mind with its outcome and received various prices for its story. The one crime story i still remember even after years!

THANK YOU - I am a huge fan of mystery books and have read every one of his books, he’s such a stand out writer and the devotion of suspect x is one of my most recommended books , he has a new book in English releasing on the 17th so expect a video about his books later this month , have you read any seishi yokomizo? Another favorite Japanese mystery author of mine

If you liked hard boiled I would really recommend it, they’re similar in a lot of ways but it’s more like an alternate version than a revised version and I think they fit very well side by side , I love them both for completely different reasons and that’s pretty cool
