So, A Dowry of Blood was a pretty middle of the road read for me. I liked it, but I wasn't as obsessed with it as the rest of the book community seemed to be when it came out. I haven't read An Education in Malice yet, I'll probs read it from my library before deciding whether I wanna buy it bc I'm feeling like S.T. Gibson might not be the author for me. I am getting Evocation in a book box and I can't wait to see what it looks like. The thing about S.T. Gibson for me is that aesthetics-wise, these books are right up my alley lol, but execution? Idk, I'm def interested to see where I land on this one, but I appreciate your review helping me have a better idea of what I'm getting into whenever I do get around to reading it!

Definitely a hit-or-miss author for me now. I'm glad my review helped you. I was worried I wasn't making any sense for a solid 30 minutes 😂 If you end up reading it, I hope you will enjoy it. 💚

every thought you had about how this would be a series is exactly how i felt. it's not plot heavy enough to keep me invested. it's too character-driven. i mean, i know romance authors and cozy mystery authors who do spin-off series but with completely different characters. so i don't know. i'm thinking what you're thinking, lol.

Let's just hope that the characters can really carry this series 🤞🏾

I wasn’t greatly anticipating Evocation after seeing the disappointment in An Education in Malice but the occult and things like that do interest me so we’ll see I might pick it up 🤔 🔮 🃏
