I think most of the mythical inaccuracies in the Percy Jackson books that people are mentioning are about how less dangerous and trigger happy the Greek gods are... without noticing that it was a CHILDREN's book series that would have to tone things down or outright not mentioning the horrible stuffs the gods had done in the myths if it still wants to remain a CHILDREN's book series.

I mean, the gods are pretty trigger happy still. It's established in the first book that Percy can never get on a plane (or fly in general) because the second he entered Zeus's domain, he'd be struck down. Dionysus planned to either kill him horribly or turn him into a dolphin and only didn't cause Chiron talked him out of it, and Hades more than wanted to murder Percy the second he entered the Underworld if not for the fact he intended to bargain with him. Honestly, the fact Percy survived Lightning Thief was extremely lucky even discounting all the monsters.

Something that gets me with Percy Jackson is that Artemis is the older Twin, but they keep insisting Apollo is. Artemis has midwifery as her domain because she mid-wifed for her mother delivering her brother (she grew very fast 😂).

I always took that as a joke. Like it's part of Apollo's character to be annoying and obnoxious to Artemis. I never got the sense that that was a true statement.

Idk if that's quite the case because in the books that are basically Percy telling the old legend stories he directly explains that she did that. I think the lore is just that Apollo, being who he is, has taken to changing the story to make himself seem cooler.

From what I’ve heard, the lore behind Moana is actually a pretty good representation of Hawaiian and Samoan culture. Personally, I find the movie itself pretty dumb and filled with a lot of fake out drama and missed opportunities. The chicken was stupid comic relief, and whole scenes, like the entire Kakamora encounter, could be removed and they wouldn’t change a thing about the rest of the film.

@@jjakkal_ Depends on which part of the Riordanverse. Percy Jackson is about Greek/Classical mythology, Kane Chronicles is Egyptian, Heroes of Olympus is Latin, Magnus Chase is Norse, and Trials of Apollo is both Classical and Latin.

There are also spinoff series based on other mythologies. The Kane Chronicles focuses on Egyptian mythology, and the Magnus Chase series is Norse.

And it's pretty hard to rate the mythological accuracy for those kind of things. Only real namedrop is Maui and he's already known in all regions of Polynesian

I think because of how little mythology, at least in terms of the Gods, is present. Considering how intertwined the heroes and the Gods are in the mythos it would be tough to do a mythology inaccuracy video since it would mostly be a history video.

Literally the only major inaccuracy in the Percy Jackson books is that Circe in myths doesn't hate men. The books made up the whole misandry thing. In the myths she's rather neutral on them. Heck, she has males she romantically pursues and has plenty of men she never harms. Yeah, there are *people* she turns into animals, but there's nothing to suggest gender has anything to do with it. Heck, she curses women too.

Not really persona, but it’s sister series Shin Megami Tensei is very grounded in mythology, with gods and monsters from every mythology trying to reshape the world to fit their needs. The easiest to pick up at the moment are 3 or 5 on the switch. Be warned though, their pretty difficult.

I think with the Persona games, it's more of learning about the enemy Shadows and the different creatures they're representing from cultures around the world; there's everything from Cait Sith, to Koppa Tengu, to Belphagor and many more. I'd personally love to hear your takes on them.

At that point I feel like doing, say SMT1, where the demons actually have plot relevance (outside of solely being the final boss) might work better. Even then you'ld end up with "I know this is going to shock people, but Thor never does *insert SMT1 plot point* in norse mythology", which would largely be on account of Megaten games usually having contemporary settings But hey, if he's willing to do it for RoR, maybe it will work idk

Would love a video on the Fate series, it's overly complicated and silly at times, also it's get wacky because the in-universe magic system is hard to understand. It's a battle royale style series with a lot of drama but they change a lot about the Mythological Heroes in order to accommodate them better to the Anime Style (see the whole Saberface meme). I'd recommend Fate Zero if only because it's the most compelling, story wise.

With how Fate is it makes more sense to just do a comparison of the character designs to how they are show in myth. The Fate shows for the most part don't go into the character mythos, compared to stuff like GoW & Record of Ragnarok.

With the Persona games, I think it would be better to visit its parent series Shin Megami Tensei. In Persona the mythological characters are actually only a ghost companion with no real relevance to the story. The only exceptions are few and far between (mostly it boils down to just the villian been an actual god or demon). In the main games of Shin Megami Tensei the mythological character are actually meant be a depiction of themself and they are relevant to the story. So I think there is more material for the inaccuracies format.

I can point out one inaccuracy in the Percy Jackson books, and that is the original great prophecy refers to Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades as the oldest gods but they aren't.

On regards to fate, I'd really recomend it, since it's been one of my favorite stories for a long time now. Personally I'd recommend the original visual novel, where, being the beginning, they actually put some effort into staying closer to the designs (especially compared to nowadays), and the long waves of text actually share a lot of lore of information around the myths and character lores, and I do believe you'll be pleasantly surprised by those :D

In the "Persona" games (and most of the "Shin Megami Tensei" franchise), it's sorta like "Pokémon" but instead of original monsters, they have characters from religion, mythology, and folklore. The designs for these characters are for the most part extremely inaccurate to their source material, but on few occasions they're near perfect. The thing about the "SMT" games is the fact that most of the mythological characters aren't vital to the stories, as the stories themselves are original and simply use pre-existing beings to fill in as enemies to fight in game, and are most likely not the actual mythological beings from thousands of years ago entering an alternate dimension just to beat up a few high schoolers. There's only a select few times where individuals from mythos are used as actual characters, such as Lucifer, Izanami-no-Okami, Yaldabaoth, etc. Personally, as much as I would love for you to talk about "Persona," unless you want to spend hours talking about inaccurate designs then it's not a worthwhile investment, as there are many other games and movies out there are better worth you digging into, such as all the others you mentioned. I do look forward to a video on "Dante's Inferno" as that game kicks ass!

The design is off the charts and it's very very myth-accurate for the most part and I can't wait for the sequel. The persona games do in fact have many mythological figures that you use to fight with. VERY good games too. SMT is also sorta part of all that (or more accurately, Persona is part of SMT) Both are great games series. And both have the myth figures in them.

The Persona series do involve and feature Mythology, Real life, and other fictional characters, but the plot dosn't really center around them. The Main cast use the Personas as "weapons" to defeat a monster/bad guy. However the Personas the characters get are linked to what the character is going through or what the story is about. (For example, One character in P3 uses Thanatos as a Persona, because the main theme about that game was death.)( Or another Ex, A character uses LOKI cause he was a Lier and a trickster to the cast) So the games aren't related to any certain mythological story, they just so happened to have those characters... sorry if I explained this odd lol its been awhile I would say doing a review is prob better..btw there is remake of P3 coming up early next year that looks VERY promising. If you wanna start now, id say Persona 5 Royal is best since it's very newbie safe and it's very optimize, but is very long (like 100 around hours)

Yeah, a review would be best given both the length and the fact that mythology is more of a secondary aspect in the series. Although typically a character from mythology is usually responsible for each story so it'd be interesting to get thoughts on how those characters were handled.

You don’t have to choose a Clash of the Titans movie, you can do both, the original seems to focus more on the adventure aspect of Perseus’ story whereas the remake wants to be more action oriented, plus from what I’ve seen, it also adds new characters and changes the way other characters act and makes other differences that you wouldn’t just repeat yourself, granted, there would be similar inaccuracies, but there would be more in the remake and possibly some changes in the remake that make it more accurate in some cases than the original

Wierdly enough Fate is pretty accurate when it comes to the myths themselves. As fun as getting Fate content on this channel would be; it might be for the best put that aside. It's practically the biggest mythology fanfiction that has its own lore mixed together.

I'd be down for an Aladdin video! As for a future suggestion: It's not out and no release date as of yet as far as I know but I'd be really curious how accurate the upcoming Black Myth Wukong game will be. Would make for an interesting video either way I think! Appreciate all the work you put into your videos, keep it up! :)

I feel like people saying that Percy Jackson has a lot of inaccuracies might be because they´re comparing certain versions of the stories they know compared to the versions of the stories that Percy Jackson uses. If you ever planned to do Book reviews on Rick Riordan´s works like Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Kane´s Chronicles, etc. I would absolutely watch that tho

Ownestly mate your inaccury videos are very entaining to me which is why I'm more than happy for you to review anything you decide and I dont have a doubt in my mind that some of your videos were apart of what helped me change into a better and more open minded person. But i'm not gonna go into specifics, all you need to know is that your videos and you (even if you dont think so) helped me become a better person and improve things in my life and for that I am forever greatful, thank you.

Honestly, all of these projects sounds really cool for inaccuracy videos. Regardless of when you release them, i’m looking forward to them. You’ve made some great inaccuracy videos, and my biggest issue with them so fat is that there are so few videos. Its just like in the first Thor inaccuracy: Another!

My guess for the one you're working on is Jason and the argonauts. As for Aladin I say go for it. Not really myth but there is a story that's been adapted so I'd like to see that. Also thanks a lot for the amazing content. It's a lot of fun watching your movies.

As for Fate series a would like to see you do one I would say you need to be aware of few things. first of all most rich on actual mythologycal things is Fate /Grand Order but It a gacha mobile games which would soon reach 8 years soo it's a lot I personally think it would better suited for more of character based like you did with Shuten but more explaining of character herself for example take Shuten and fact that she still scary as hell and would rip off your insides if she feels bored and reason for her appearance is apparently because she wanted to mess with Kintoki (whose golden bear is a mecha but it's different story) There's a lot of potential content but you would need help of actual veteran of this game mostly because introducing them events aren't coming back. If you want to make Inaccuracy video I would recommend Fate/Apocrypha mostly because there's more servants, it's not a part of bigger narrative that you need to understand and there just one season were given time to all servants and not being dragged through 3 separate route's because it's not adaptation of visual novel. Second best would be Fate/ GO Babylonia or Camelot because this while tied in larger narrative, those films more focused on certain mythology while still adding a bit of others (like sexy monk lady who was trickted into wearing a swimsuit by it's monkey and pig and Aztec god who was so influenced by Lucha that it was inscribed on herself it throne of heroes) Personally I genuinely want you to at least watch through few of them don't be scared to begin from which ever you would find more interesting be that original routes of stay night, heaven's fell and Unlimited Blade works prequal in form of zero or alternatives like Apocrypha or any of GO other than last singularity because it more end of arc then actual full fledged story like others adaptations. In closing I would personally like you to just enjoy watching it ,more than actually doing video of Inaccuracy P.S I would like to make few points clear from get go 1.Berserks class pretty much insane people. Some hyper fixated on ome specific thing like Lancelot, Raikou and Penthesilea or completely losing ability to think l 2.thre no way to actually summon divine spirit or god in fate to do that they need vessel of humans who they compatible with and made contact with holly grail so there a few familiar faces and those pseudo-servants have mixed personality of both vessel and god Hope it's helpful in any way and good luck with any video you work right now

If you do cover Fate/Stay Night, I recommend going with the original Visual Novel over any of the anime adaptations. Each anime only covers a third of the VN, and even within that they end up cutting out a LOT, so I do think doing the VN would make for more interesting videos.

While watching this video, I got an ad for a Norse Mythology game that seams to be more Mythologically accurate, but with MCU style characters. Here's an inaccuracy in PJ: the use Heracles once, and for the rest of the time, call him Hercules. Also, I want to know your opinion about Godzilla 1998 and all the inaccuracies you can spot.

I'd love to see a lot of the things you mentioned in this video. Not only are your vids funny but they're definitely educational. You're like the history teacher that I never had. So thank you for helping my brain grow. If I had to suggest anything. I'd say: Devil May Cry. That game series takes a lot of stuff not just from mythology but real world history. I think a vid on that would be cool.

I think for the older clash of the titans movie rather than doing a mythology inaccuracies video on it you just a simple review on it. It’s such a classic movie and seeing your take on it would be really interesting.
