A good defense power up would be a spiked butt/shorts that blocks a slap. You could make it where it only works for 1-2 sec after activation. Think of it as a parry powerup that only works once and for a short time. Cool game BTW

For the color, you should consider working on the contrast. By that I mean lowering the contrast for the map elements (and keep the high contrast for the characters) would help the players to read the screen. Your characters would pop more (be more visible) and the map elements would be more pleasing to the eye while making the action more readable.

Who is the server? A player or do you have a personal server that keeps track of all the hosts?

Currently it's any player. Not ideal, but dedicated servers are just far too expensive so we need to be smart about it. However we won't be showing/ identifying the host in game. We want host players to have the same experience as everyone else. There is definitely a lot of work to be done in that regard, and if the game does well then more options will be available to us but for now yeah it's just player hosted
