Gloves were for outside only. There were hard rules for "gentlemanly" behavior for german officers and german high ranking men in general. I recently found a book about all that stuff that was passed down from my great-grandfather and it had 20 pages on occasions were gloves were appropriate to wear. When I think about it, this video is not allowed to be shown in germany. It's funny, yes, but we are not allowed to use those symbols for fun, just for historical accuracy, and even there, in quite a specific way. That was my takeaway too, that pisswater is a travesty. Klaus did get a bit intense though.
