As a mom of three, my best advice for a natural birth is that when you don’t think you can do it anymore, it’s probably your body’s signal that the end is beginning. It’s the most intense part of labor, but the feeling of relief when your baby is born is the best feeling of relief in the world. Relax, breathe, let your body work and have a few distractions to help pass the time. Congratulations!

Congratulations!!! And please don't let them make you lay on your back when it's time to push, that's working AGAINST gravity, gravity is your friend! Be in a sitting or squatting position, it will make delivery so much easier. Shalom!

@@SweetPotatoSoul I teach hypnobirthing and had my 2nd baby using it On my back for my first labour - so wrong! 2nd time I just went into my own space in my mind and my body just wanted to lean forward. I gave birth stand up leaning forward My big tip - be patient! First births can be stop/start this is NORMAL. This is not actual labour. Ina May Gaskin talks about this a lot. When you hear people say "oh, I was in labour for 3 days" they're not really but just warm up labour. So relax and chill, eat and sleep And my 2nd tip - practice, practice, practice. And if you think you've practiced enough, practice some more. It makes breathing etc 2nd nature during labour. And don't forget to eat either. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't eat 💜💜💜

Hands and knees was best for me I heard squatting can lead to tearing so just listen to your body if anything feels a little to tense try leaning forward to get pressure off that perineum

Read The Fourth Trimester by Kimberley Johnson! The first forty days are so crucial. Kimberley says new mamas need swaddling, massage, and to be looked at in the eyes, just like babies. Moving too much can create incontinence later on. Rest now, so menopause will be easier. Don’t do too much too soon just because you’re young. Bind with tight yoga pants, yoni steam at Korean spa or at home, lactation consultent, post-partum doula 5 days/week, having people make meals for you. Making sure any family who comes cleans and does dishes for you. No one has to see the baby idmeadiry. This baby is for YOU. Sorry if this is harsh, but your postpartum health is crucial, and is so underlooked in Western culture!!

Yes indeed! Do you recommend it if we'll have grandma here too? Or only if grandma isn't around?
@jasminevaliente965 жыл бұрын
@@SweetPotatoSoul I had one with grandma as well. Most doulas that help during pregnancy will stick around postpartum mine was available the first 6 weeks after birth. Grandma was a huge help but I got the best professional advice on my mental health and healing down there, and the best tips and checking on my uterus swelling going down and even helped teach me a special wrap to help diastis recti which I actually didnt have but the wrap still helped to strengthen my muscles and was a life saver to my back. She was pretty informative about the yoni stool and steams I wanted to try and did use after delivery. My baby's grandma (my mommy in law) stayed with us and was great keeping me fed, loving on me and helping keep the house clean, plus was nice for my husband having his mom around to keep us all same and my own mom and grandma were great support in and out as well. But none of them are vegan or have the naturalist knowledge I do, are pretty quick to suggest going to the hospital or grab medicine everytime theres a slight concern so having someone more confident and professionally knowledgable about any minor concerns I had was really nice so I had support on my particular lifestyle.

Ina May Gaskin was my hero for my two births. If I could do labour and delivery every month I would! I loved it. Her best advice for me is to not fear childbirth and keep your mouth open for delivery! Also touch babies head when it crowns. Also helps with no tearing. Enjoy it!!

I have always thought it weird that people go to the place where sick people go to deliver a baby. I was born in a women's hospital mainly for births, but though that's better than the usual setting, a dedicated center that takes the clinical detachment aspect out of childbirth is a far better idea.

My husband and I prepped for both of our deliveries and neither of them worked out. It was sad because I had all these wonderful natural childbirth plans. Both our girls are healthy and happy, but I think I would have recovered faster afterbirth (physically and emotional) had I prepared myself for the unexpected. Good luck to you both. Nothing makes a baby grow faster and healthier than love. I like to think that’s why are our girls are so big. 😊

FANTASTIC video! My vegan baby is now 3mo old and I wished there were more videos like this when I was pregnant. I ended up going to a vegan dietician because I couldn’t find a lot on having a vegan pregnancy... turned out it’s just as you say here - same diet but eat more, ensuring 75g protein, and check vitamins. My B12 plummeted DURING pregnancy so I have since increased my daily intake of it. Anyway, THANK YOU for this - I think more awareness of vegan pregnancies is needed on KZbin.

I feel like aside from the physical prep mental prep is essential. I listened to the same hypnobirthing tracks and it really helped. Also i found a video on Netflix its called moving art. Episode 1 and 2..I watched during birth and prepping for birth it really helped. Episode one is ocean waves which are like contractions. I visualized how powerful nature is and that since i am a part of nature too, I am also very powerful! Episode 2 is all flowers opening up. Its a great visualization for helping ur cervix open. I also had a doula which was awesome. She actually liked those videos so much she’s using them for future clients. Have some powerful affirmations to say as well! Good luck! Congratulations, and get ready for everything to change! Some women are challenged by postpartum issues (crying baby, no sleep, breastfeeding, baby blues). While your partner may really want to help, I found it was good to have another someone close by, just in case, to provide support. I'd like to say another woman, but you can be open minded about that. Whether that's grandma or a doula, the BFF or your sister, it will make an important difference.

Wow! You're doing such great prep to have a healthy labor. I did pretty much the same things as you, and had a wonderful natural water birth. You might look into eating dates daily as you near the end of pregnancy. Everyone I know who has done this has had a healthy, short(ish) labor (including me). In fact, both a friend of mine and I didn't know for sure we were in labor until pretty close to the end. I gave birth two hours after arriving at the birthing center. My friend ended up giving birth in the car on the way. Also, when it comes to parenting books, I've learned the most from Daniel Siegel and Shefali Tsabary. I listen to their audiobooks while strolling my daughter. Best wishes! I know all will go well for you. You're doing all that you can possibly do.

Don't listen to the naysayers. I was just as confident as you about visualizing on what my expectations and experience would be, guess what? I had both all natural homebirths. I nursed my daughters for a very long time too. Now they are 13 and 11 yo and I wouldn't change a thing. We are a strong, healthy, and close knit family. I attribute it all to the strong bonds we formed in those early years.

Do you take any prenatal vitamins and where do you purchase your vegan supplements?

Heyy, so glad I can follow along on your pregnancy :) you say that you take a probiotic everyday to help with digestion but then I didn't understand the second reason, you said "reduce my risk of having... when the baby is born", what was that? :)
