This sounds horrible, I’m so sorry you had to go through this. I’m also pharmacist who really wanted to move to England but opted for Germany in the end. I followed your channel a long time ago to see what it could’ve been like, but every time it makes me grateful that I decided the way that I did. I think the NHS is in serious need of intervention from all the stories I’ve heard. I hope something happens, because people are suffering. Every system has its issues, but the amount of negative things I’ve heard I’ve actually never heard from anywhere else. Congratulations on your baby girl 🎉 and I’m happy everywhere worked out in the end

I'm so sorry that this happened to you, Regina. I hope this does not put you off having another child in the future. I probably would have put a complaint in, even though I hate complaining about services. To think that your taxes go towards this level of care is unfortunate!

I'm the same, I usually don't complain so it's a tough one for me..! And agreed...all those taxes for what?! But thank you for the comment ❣

Sorry you were treated like that. Sounds stressful but I’m glad you and your husband got through it. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been watching your channel since the end of my GCSE’s, where I was contemplating career paths, and now im moving on to pharmacy at UCL in a few weeks. Time flies 🤣

Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl, I had a similar experience with the NHS with my first too. Currently 42 weeks pregnant and due to be induced so can relate to the anxiety and pain you went through. I’m sure every time you see your baby’s face, it takes it all away!!

Congratulations Regina, so happy to hear you have a little girl. Hope you and baby are doing well. I would just like to recommend if you haven’t organised already a debrief regarding your labour experience. I believe this will help you process what happened and also alleviate most of your anxiety if you do want to have another child in future xx

Wow. This is scary & shocking! I keep hearing awful experiences from POC women about NHS maternity services. Glad baby girl is here safely & you’re now both at home 💓. P.S applying for band 7 roles and your video has been a God send.

I moved to the US and had the most amazing birth experience ever. All my friends in England told me their horror stories and I was so worried but it’s literally the polar opposite here My husband had his own bed next to me. We had a whole suite to ourselves. My baby was so big! 8pounds 11 ounces she did have shoulder dystocia but my doctor was so experienced she did a special technique to get her out safely. I’m so sorry you went though all that. But I’m happy your baby is so safe!

We always here bad things about the US healthcare system but in this case, it sounds like you had the best care and I'm so glad! Thank you and I am glad that your baby is safe also 💓

@@KOREginAPharmacist so if you have good insurance your fine literally everything’s 10/10. In the ER I’ve never waited more than 2 hours! compared to the UK medicine is more expensive than an NHS Rx but it’s not that bad may 10/20 bucks max per item. (With insurance) I’m a pharmacist too!

So sad to hear about your NHS experience. I feel like NHS has its pros and cons. There's this youtuber who I followed she went private instead of giving birth in NHS. Of course the cost was a little too much but hearing about your story I would probably do the same. I feel like NHS has really downgraded in terms of standard I mean it's good for the UK as it's free healthcare compare to America but if their system is going to be like this then maybe i'll just organised a private medical insurance.

I regret not flying to Korea and giving birth there or going private to be honest but 20 K is just such a lot of money, I don't know if I could have justified it without knowing how awful my experience was going to be!

@@KOREginAPharmacist oh my good Lord 20k? for going private in UK? that lady who I was talking about who went private said they paid around 8k. Not everyone can pay that much - how much more 20k! I mean I have always loved my NHS experience as an outpatient except for that one doctor who was so dang rude and as you said not that sympathetic too. Maybe next time you need to go to Korea. I saw one lady who shared her birthing journey and she lives in KR and she said it was the best. I am now living in the Philippines and we both have private and public healthcare here too but cesarean won't cost you 20 pounds. I live in another region and mine cost around P150,000 that's more than 2,000 gbp at the current rate. In the big cities it'll cost more but not up to 20k gbp - that's mad and yes the hospital experience is way better of course.

@@bubblygirlduddett3 The 20K is London prices...! And yes, I'm thinking hopefully Korea next time if there is a next time...I think a combination healthcare system is also quite good! Thank you so much for commenting, it's good to hear what goes on in other countries.
