Some people complain that this is not a real naked bike. What baffles me is that no other manufacturer has copied this brilliant concept! What alot of naked bike owners (me included) complain about is the lack of wind protection , especially on the highway. Now having owned two Tuonos myself, despite being some years older than the one reviewed in this video, this bike is truly a marvel. Let alone the sound of that V4 is worth the money alone.

I also took delivery on my new Tuono V4 1100 about a month ago. I second everything you say. My only "frustration" is that I've always enjoyed full-throttle redlining various high-revving bikes i've owned (all 130hp or less). With the Tuono, full-throttle in second gear you're bumping the wheelie control rhroughout 😅, and full-throttle 3rd gear, you're over 100mph with lots of revs to go. So on public roads i find i have to shift at 8,000 rpms usually to keep my license in tact. I know I'm not going to get a lot of sympathy here, but I actually think it would be a more fun street bike at 900cc, so you could really ring its neck and hear that amazing sound at full glory. That said, I absolutely love it, and it has loads of power from 5,000 - 8,000 rpms.

Greg, couldn’t agree more. I do wonder if in the V4 Tuono we have in many ways reached ‘peak bike’? Obviously it’s subjective and there are other great bikes, but there’s just something really ‘right’ about it! You can get faster bikes - but realistically it’s ‘too’ fast for the road. You can get lighter bikes - but honestly its about perfect to provide a supple ride with the suspension. You can probably get ‘faster’ handling bikes - but I’ve not ridden anything that feels as dialled-in as that Tuono/RSV4 front end. And the sound and feeling from the engine are hard to convey to anyone who’s not ridden one. I’m never selling mine 😂. (Partly because my wife loves it too and won’t let me)

Characteristics that don't get in the way but you can learn to work with is what makes relationships with machines special - they need some thought and consideration from the rider. Whereas 'perfect' machines get very boring very quickly as it requires no real skill or consideration. Fantastic looking and sounding bike, every time I sit on one at a show l think how tiny it is and how it fits me perfectly. As for the quickshifter, they were always meant to be used when on the power to save a bit of time when hard on it. I know some manufacturers have managed to program their shifters to enable smooth up and down changes at low speeds and throttle openings, but to me that's a lazy shifter, not a quick shifter, just use the clutch when pootling. Or go the whole way and get one of the the new electronic clutch options.

The Duke was fun but, not what I wanted in the handling department I just didn't bode well with it. The M was great but sooo buzzy to ride and really didn't feel special to me. I'll say this. I didn't vibe with the Tuono personally, the weight and the ergos weren't for me. But you're right, nothing on earth sounds like that Aprilia V4. Nothing. I’ve got a 21’ factory with that same Akra on it. I love the bike. The sound is awesome. The thing is like a wild animal growling beneath you. Btw I would suggest putting forged or carbon wheels on it. Improves the handling.

Big , big fan of the Tuono Gregorio, great choice 👏👏 And well done for answering a question I’ve been asking for ages, tank range, if it will do 110 ish miles to reserve light that’ll do for me 👍 any chance on your next video that you could record your mileage to reserve over the next 3 tankfuls or so and work out the range and mpg longhand, by calculation not just trusting what the trip tells you 🙏?? I have been fancying one of these for ages, so I think I’ll have a speed white one with some black forged wheels on it 😍 Just one last observation, is the brake lever on your bike set slightly higher than the clutch lever? Or am I just a bit cock-eyed 🐔?? Keep the videos coming, loving them 👍

Great bike... wish the front fairing cowl was a tad higher, always thought they looked a little low aesthetic wise anyway... agree with that engine, it is just sublime

Thanks for posting; a superb bike, an excellent choice sir. Even if every other bike in the price band (or above) were as competent as the Tuono Factory, and assuredly not many are, it’s that something almost intangible about an Italian stallion that just has the wow factor. There’s simply no denying facts. This was the case years ago when the 3 Italian kings ruled the roads: Guzzi’s Le Mans, Laverda’s Jota & Ducati’s 900SS. Tell me I’m wrong.

I notice the BMW runs the brake lines from the master to left and right calibers direct and the Tuono has a piggy back off the right calliper to Left. The BMW is beautifully set up, even in this minor detail.

Like a person who, when they are eating say Mmmmmm over and over, I can hear it in your voice! I have the same, at 69 years of age and love it. They are far more comfortable than many many think and they tour very well too with a H&B rear plate. A tip here Gregorio - in T2 screen, you can actively change the ASC modes - ON THE FLY! This works within any of the modes (Tour, Sport, User) Just use your up or down buttons on the left hand controls. Cheers also, No mirrors? What other mods?
@gregtufnall62766 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip Fred - I sort of realised you could do that but appreciate the advice. More mods to come in time yes. Just saving up a bit first 😂. Cheers

Interesting choice. I prefer the BMW S1000R but that's based on purely hypotheticals. Only ridden the S1000RR so it's assessed on that experience.

I have the 2021 and it’s absolutely amazing. The description of the quick shifter at low speeds is spot on and I too use the clutch around town. But when you use the throttle, the quick shifter is buttery smooth! I still have the stock can and the sound is amazing. Only thing I’ll do is Gabro upmap it now that it’s out of warranty. I’d be curious to know if you’ve already done it, or if you are planning to?
@gregtufnall62766 ай бұрын
Hi David, thanks for your message! In answer, I have the Akra map installed and in my opinion, it’s worked really well and the fuelling is nice. Let me know how you get on once you’ve up-mapped yours. Cheers

Just a small thing and it may be the camera that's making it look worse than it is, but the clutch and brake levers look really flat. Personal preference, but the more natural position for your hands, is to have them rotated to around 20 past. Great vid and lovely bike, Greg.

completely dependent on individual proportions. He doesnt look to be moving his forearm or wrist to reach the levers so i'd say they're probably set just fine for him

What about the seating position and the foot peg height. Are your legs cramped. I come from an 890 Duke as well and it was very comfy. I’m 6’2”. Thanks.
@gregtufnall62766 ай бұрын
Hi Ray, legs are more cramped on the Tuono versus the 890 I’d say but not by a massive amount. I’m just over 6ft 👍
